Known for catering to the budget and midrange smartphone segments, Tecno has today unveiled the Spark Go 3. Priced at Rs 8,999, this is the successor to the Spark Go 2 and builds upon the durability aspect by rocking an IP64 rating, an addition we recently saw on the Lava Storm Lite 5G at the same price point. The Spark Go 3 also gets a ‘No Network Communication 2.0’ feature that allows users to initiate calls in low or no-network environments.

The Tecno Spark Go 3 comes in a single storage configuration of 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB storage, while its colour options include Aurora Purple, Galaxy Blue, Ink Black, and Titanium Grey. The internal storage is further expandable using a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset can be purchased from Flipkart, Amazon, and retail stores across India starting January 23rd at noon.

With the Spark Go 3 placing heavy emphasis on durability, along with an IP64 rating for shielding against dust and water exposure, the smartphone is resistant to drop damage for up to 1.2 metres. Despite the company’s assurances, it’s always better to be on the safe side by applying a cover on the phone to minimise damage as much as possible. Speaking of which, the phone’s retail box does bundle a case, a 10W charger, and a Type-C cable.

Tecno Spark Go 3 render

Up front, the Tecno Spark Go 3 gets a 6.74-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. A high refresh rate display ensures smooth UI scrolling and responsive gaming in supported titles. Powering the Spark Go 3 is the Unisoc T7250 chipset, an octa-core processor with up to 1.8GHz clock speeds. This 4G-only processor can also be found on the POCO C71, which scored 2,65,154 on AnTuTu (v10) benchmark per our testing.

The smartphone runs on Android 15 with Tecno’s custom skin on top. Along with the usual features, the major highlight of the software revolves around Ella AI. This is Tecno’s in-house AI assistant, which you can converse with in several regional languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, and Bengali. The assistant could also help in image and text generation, like Google Gemini and ChatGPT.

Towards the back, the Tecno Spark Go 3 sports a pill-shaped camera module that comprises a 13MP camera, while the front dew drop notch houses an 8MP selfie camera. The Spark Go 3 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, paired with a 10W charger.

For Rs 8,999, the Tecno Spark Go 3 comes with a stringent build, an in-built AI with multi-language support, and a fair combination of performance and battery that should suffice for budget-conscious buyers. While we’re yet to test the device ourselves, it’s worth waiting for reviews that detail the real-world experience of using the Spark Go 3.
