Vivo is preparing to expand its audio portfolio beyond true wireless earbuds. Ahead of its launch event later today in China, the company has officially teased its first-ever wireless over-ear headphones, revealing the design, colour options, and several key specifications before the formal debut. The upcoming headphones will launch alongside the Vivo S60 smartphone series and the Vivo TWS 5e earbuds, signalling Vivo’s broader push into the premium audio ecosystem segment.
While the company has been active in the TWS category for years, this marks its entry into the increasingly competitive over-ear headphone market currently dominated by brands such as Sony and Bose.
Vivo over-ear headphones: what to expect
According to teasers shared on Weibo, Vivo’s wireless headphones will support active noise cancellation (ANC), Spatial Audio, and multi-device connectivity. The company claims the headphones can reduce external noise levels by up to 58dB, suggesting a more premium-grade ANC implementation compared to many mid-range wireless headphones currently available in the market.

The headphones will use 40mm dynamic drivers and come with Hi-Res Audio Gold certification, indicating support for higher-quality wireless audio playback. Although Vivo has yet to reveal details about codec support, the certification and positioning hint that the company could target users interested in immersive audio for music, movies, and gaming.
Battery life appears to be one of the standout features. Vivo claims the headphones can deliver up to 75 hours of playback on a single charge. It’s not clear, though, if this battery backup is with or without ANC. For comparison, many premium ANC headphones in this category typically offer between 30 and 40 hours of battery life, depending on the level of noise cancellation usage.

In terms of design, Vivo’s first over-ear headphones weigh 238 grams and feature soft leather earcups designed to enhance long-duration comfort. Official renders show the headphones in purple and white colour options with a minimalist design language that aligns with Vivo’s recent product aesthetics.
Interested buyers in China can already pre-book the headphones through Vivo’s official online store ahead of the launch event. Pricing will ultimately determine how competitive Vivo’s first over-ear headphones become. If the company positions them aggressively below flagship offerings from Sony and Bose while retaining features such as strong ANC, long battery life, and premium audio tuning, the headphones could appeal to users looking for feature-rich wireless audio products without paying ultra-premium prices.
