Infinix is bringing the Infinix Hot 70 Pro to India on September 4th after the phone’s global launch in July. The company has confirmed the India launch date and some details ahead of the event, including a 144Hz display and a customisable LED system on the rear. The phone has already appeared on Geekbench, revealing the chipset, while other specs are being slowly revealed by the company.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G India launch, availability

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G will launch in India on September 4th at 12 noon and will be sold through Flipkart. Infinix has announced four finishes, namely Dive Blue, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple and Thermo Orange, with each using a different rear-panel treatment. The Thermo Orange version changes colour with temperature, while Mirage Green responds to low-light conditions. Silk Glow Purple changes its pattern when the phone is tilted, and Dive Blue has a matte finish.

The rear also houses Infinix’s Active Matrix Cube, an LED-based display that can show notifications and react to music, games and charging. Similar rear lighting systems have appeared on phones from Nothing and POCO’s gaming-focused POVA lineup, although Infinix is using the feature as a more prominent part of the Hot 70 Pro’s design.

The company hasn’t announced any pricing details yet. For comparison, the Infinix Hot 60 5G+, the latest Hot-series phone launched in India, starts at Rs 17,999 with a 120Hz display, Dimensity 7020 chipset, 50MP camera and 5,200mAh battery. The Hot 70 Pro will definitely be positioned above that.

Specifications

The phone’s Flipkart microsite reveals the Indian Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G will have a 6.76-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 7.85 mm-thick body. Infinix hasn’t disclosed the complete hardware yet, but the global model offers a Dimensity 7100 chipset, up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a 50MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera and IP68 protection.

Battery capacity varies globally, with 5,600mAh and 6,000mAh versions available, while charging is rated at 45W. Some reports have also pointed to a 6,500mAh battery and Sony camera sensor, so the Indian configuration needs to be confirmed before these specifications can be treated as final. Phones in this price range are moving towards 7,000mAh or larger cells, with some models reaching 10,000mAh. The Hot 70 Pro could look less competitive if India gets the smaller global battery.

The Dimensity 7100 chipset interestingly also appears in the Infinix Note Edge, which currently costs Rs 28,999 after launching at Rs 21,999 in February. It has a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display, 6,500mAh battery and 45W charging, giving buyers a clue as to where Infinix could price the new phone.

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro’s 144Hz display, IP68 rating and rear LED system could help it stand apart, but pricing will determine whether those features compensate for any compromises in battery, cameras or performance. Buyers should wait for the full specifications and India price before choosing it over similarly priced rivals.
