Vivo S70 has been doing the rounds on Weibo with leaks pointing towards a major camera upgrade. The smartphone is tipped to launch with support for a telephoto converter. This would make it a first for Vivo’s S series. Now, details about the Vivo S70 Pro have also surfaced online, suggesting its imminent launch.
According to details shared by tipster Gadgets Data, the Vivo S70 Pro is said to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display. The handset will reportedly feature a metal frame and an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. It’s also tipped to pack a battery larger than 7,000mAh+ with 9,000mAh fast charging support. Vivo will likely adopt a silicon-carbon battery if it’s going for a large capacity so that the phone can still maintain a slim design.
For optics, the Vivo S70 Pro could feature a 200MP or 50MP main camera, a 64MP LYT-610 OIS telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, the S70 Pro is tipped to house a 50MP front camera.
These specifications are largely the same as what’s rumoured for the standard Vivo S70. SO it’s not clear how Vivo plans to differentiate the two phones, if there is a Pro model indeed. The Vivo S60 series launched without a Pro model.
The tipster adds that the Vivo S70 Pro could launch as the V90 Pro in global markets. That’s another speculation and one that will need more concrete backing before we can come to conclusions about it. Based on the details we have so far, the Vivo S70 Pro could launch as a premium mid-range phone with versatile cameras and a large battery. But since this is all speculation for now, it’s better to wait for more details before making any buying decision.
