Vivo T5 appears on Google Play Supported Devices list, suggesting imminent launch
Following the launch of the Vivo T5 Pro (review) in India, the OEM appears to be gearing up for another addition to the T-series lineup. The upcoming device is likely to be the vanilla Vivo T5, which has now surfaced on the Google Play Supported Devices list. This certification is mandatory for Android smartphones, as it ensures the device is Play Protect certified and ships with official Google apps, along with support for Android’s security and permissions framework.

Vivo T5 could be a rebranded Y31d model
Interestingly, the Vivo T5 has been spotted on the Google Play Supported devices with mode number V2543, which is the same as that of the Vivo Y31d series. The latter was launched in the market outside India earlier this year as a budget offering.
Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t reveal the Vivo T5 specifications, but it is expected to debut with a 7,200mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC, IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance rating, and OriginOS 6 software. The phone could come in a couple of colour variants: gold and grey, and sport dual-rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary unit. Is it worth the wait?

The Moto G57 Power (review) also comes with the same chipset within the segment that outperforms the rivals in major synthetic benchmark apps. That said, it lacks 5G, which may not appeal to users prioritising faster internet speeds.
If the phone launches at an aggressive price point, it could very well be worth waiting for. Otherwise, buyers will find stronger alternatives in the segment, such as the iQOO Z11x, Vivo T5x, and POCO M8 in the sub-Rs 20,000 category. Those willing to stretch their budget slightly can also consider options like the OnePlus Nord CE5 and Infinix Note Edge in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment.
