Vivo V27 series powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200 and Dimensity 7200 overview

Vivo just launched the V27 series, featuring the V27 and the V27 Pro. Both are incredible smartphones with high-end specs that defy their mid-range price tags. Most of the specs of these two 5G phones are the same but they are distinguished by the MediaTek chipsets that go inside them. While the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 has been reserved for the Pro model, the other one has opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. It’s worth noting that both are built on the 4nm platform and having them at the heart of any phone guarantees absolute brilliance in terms of performance and a host of other aspects. Let us take you through how the Vivo V27 series benefits from these MediaTek chipsets.

MediaTek Dimensity 8200 brilliance

One can expect nothing short of snappy everyday performance from the Vivo V27 and V27 Pro. Both phones have adopted strong MediaTek Dimensity platforms that excel at delivering high-octane performance with their cutting-edge components. The V27 Pro’s MediaTek Dimensity 8200 platform prides itself on its single Cortex-A78 core that’s clocked at 3.1GHz. This high-performance core is accompanied by three more Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 3.0GHz and four efficiency-based Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Such advanced hardware means users will be able to extract blazing-fast speeds from the phone, no matter how heavy the operations are.

High-end MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip

On the other hand, the V27 has gone for the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip, making it the first phone in India to be powered by the new SoC. This allows it to deliver a pretty similar performance to that of the other chip. The 4nm unit has adopted dual Cortext-A715 cores clocked at 2.8GHz, aside from six efficiency-based Cortex-A510 cores. Effortless multitasking and smooth framerates in games will be a piece of cake for such a setup. Plus, both phones have up to 12GB worth of RAM to aid their processors in delivering top-notch performance.

Ideal for Elite-level Gaming

Their strong internal setups allow the Vivo V27 and V27 Pro to serve gamers with breathtaking gaming performance. Integral to this is the Mali-G610 GPU that can be found on their MediaTek Dimensity chips. While the one on the V27 Pro is the slightly better MC6 variant, the one of the non-Pro model is the MC4 variant. Both the GPUs contribute towards delivering smooth and fast framerates in the most demanding of online games out there. And both are also equipped with different versions of the MediaTek HyperEngine technology. This attribute comes with various resource and network management tools that are aimed at providing gamers with an uninterrupted gaming experience.

Advanced photography chops

Both the phones in the Vivo V27 range feature the same triple camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony IMX766V primary cameras equipped with OIS and two other advanced sensors. This setup fully exploits the brilliance offered by the respective MediaTek Dimensity chips on these phones. While the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 on the Vivo V27 Pro adopts the Imagiq 785 ISP, the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 on the V27 goes for the Imagiq 765. These are both highly advanced ISPs that enable 14-bit HDR imaging and are also equipped with a host of AI-based capabilities for the phones to exploit.

Thanks to these, the Vivo V27 handsets are able to deliver studio-quality night portraits that are further enhanced by a suite of AI algorithms aimed at improving the Face Beauty and bokeh performance. Capturing portrait shots in any kind of lighting will be a breeze thanks to these attributes. vivo’s framed Night Portrait with Aura Light is also present on these phones and so is the Real-Time Extreme Night Vision mode that fully lifts up night-time photos by offering delicate colour tones, and brighter and more intricate details. And then there’s the 50MP front camera of these phones, which too is equipped with powerful AI-based attributes that make clicking selfies a truly addictive experience.

Perfect for binge sessions

Both the V27 phones carry 4,600mAh batteries inside them, providing ample backup for all their daily usage needs. Even with heavy usage, users can be sure that the devices will last them one whole day with plenty of juice remaining at the end for some bedtime browsing. It’s not just the large batteries that make this possible but also the advanced battery-saving capabilities of the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity chipsets that go inside them. Moreover, both phones support 66W FlashCharge, which allows them to get fully charged incredibly fast.

Mesmerising visuals

Both the Vivo V27 and the V27 Pro have been fitted with the same 6.78 AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Interestingly, these phones come with a 3D 120Hz display, which makes them the first phones in the ‘V-series’ to offer a curved panel. This large panel is able to deliver immersive visuals no matter what it is you’re viewing on the phone; whether it’s the latest online shooting game you’re treating yourself to or just watching an episode of your favourite show. And these visuals are made even more beautiful by the panel’s 120Hz refresh rate, which is made possible by the support for high refresh rates offered by the two MediaTek Dimensity chipsets. This ultra-responsive screen enables a supremely smooth user experience on these phones that will be loved by regular users and gamers alike.
