Vivo could launch the V80 in India in the first week of October, according to a new tip. The upcoming V-series smartphone is expected to focus heavily on cameras, with a Zeiss-branded telephoto lens and improved imaging capabilities over its predecessor. It is also tipped to retain a compact form factor that the lineup is known for.

According to tipster Yogesh, the Vivo V80 is expected to launch in India by the first week of October, although Vivo has not officially confirmed the launch date yet. The smartphone is tipped to be priced at over Rs 60,000, putting it in the premium segment alongside phones such as the OPPO Reno16 and other upper-mid-range and flagship offerings.
The V80 is also expected to bring a stronger focus on video, with cinematic-grade video recording reportedly being one of its key upgrades. This could make it particularly appealing to users who prioritise cameras and video recording capabilities. While the rumoured specs are promising, particularly the camera enhancements, we’ll have to wait and see how the phone performs.

Previous leaks suggest that the Vivo V80 could feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which would remain unchanged from the Vivo V70. he decision to stick with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while efficient, could be a point of contention for users expecting faster or newer chipsets at this price point. The phone could pack a 7,200mAh battery with 90W fast charging, representing a sizeable increase over the V70’s 6,500mAh battery while retaining the same charging speed.
For cameras, the V80 is tipped to feature a Zeiss-branded triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. A 50MP autofocus selfie camera is also expected. Other rumoured features include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and an aluminium alloy frame.
Meanwhile, Vivo recently launched the V80 Lite 5G globally, with its biggest highlight being a massive 10,000mAh battery. The global model also features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, a Dimensity 7300e chipset, and a 50MP primary camera. The V80 Lite was previously tipped to launch in India, but Vivo has not confirmed its Indian availability yet.
