Vivo V80 tipped to launch under Rs 65,000 in India on October 8th
Vivo is set to launch the Vivo V80 in India on October 8th, continuing its focus in the V-series on photography in the premium mid-range segment. The V80 will bring a new design language to the V-series, along with a larger battery and the latest OriginOS software. The phone is also expected to target content creators with Zeiss-tuned cameras and a range of AI-powered imaging features. With the launch now around the corner, a tipster has revealed the expected India pricing, storage variants and key specifications of the Vivo V80.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Vivo V80 could be priced at Rs 63,000 for the 8GB + 128GB model, while the 8GB + 256GB and 8GB + 512GB variants may cost Rs 70,000 and Rs 80,000, respectively. If true, the Vivo V80 would launch at a higher price than the Vivo V70. The latter launched at Rs 45,999 but currently sells for Rs 59,999 for 8GB + 256GB, while the 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 64,999.

This comes after the Vivo V80 box MRP was said to be Rs 1,19,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the actual selling price was expected to be around Rs 60,000.
At Rs 63,000, the V80 would sit in a competitive segment that includes phones like Motorola Signature and OnePlus 15R offering more powerful chipsets. Vivo’s strategy appears to be different, with the V80 putting greater emphasis on cameras, battery life and video features. Whether that makes the higher price worthwhile will depend largely on the actual camera hardware and image processing.

Vivo has already confirmed a few features including 7,200mAh battery, 4K Cinematic video recording and OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. The Vivo V80 is tipped to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K 144Hz flat LTPS OLED display and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, paired with UFS 4.1 storage. Since the same chipset powers the V70, the V80 may not bring a major performance upgrade over its predecessor.
For photography, the phone is expected to feature a 50MP OIS main camera, 8MP ultrawide and 50MP 3x OIS telephoto camera, along with a 50MP selfie camera. Vivo has confirmed Zeiss tuning, 4K Cinematic recording and 4K 60fps video recording. The phone is also expected to offer 30 AI-powered creative features, including AI Diwali Portrait 2.0. The specs match that of the predecessor, the Vivo V70.
The 7,200mAh battery is a substantial upgrade over the V70’s 6,500mAh unit, while 90W charging is expected to handle the larger cell. Other tipped specifications include IP68 and IP69 ratings, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, an IR sensor and USB 2.0.
The V80 will also replace the V70’s squircle-shaped camera module with a larger camera plateau, while retaining flat edges. Vivo has teased an Orange finish for the phone, showing rather strong design inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro series.
For buyers, the 8GB + 128GB model at Rs 63,000 may not necessarily be the most compelling option, given the limited storage for a camera-focused phone. The 8GB + 256GB variant would make more sense for users who intend to shoot a lot of photos and 4K video, but at Rs 70,000, its value will hinge on whether Vivo delivers a camera improvement over the V70 and enough differentiation from performance-focused rivals. If the final price comes closer to the previously tipped Rs 60,000 mark, the V80’s larger battery, new software and upgraded camera setup would make its proposition considerably stronger.
