Vivo has unexpectedly launched a new smartphone in its last year’s flagship lineup, the X200 series. Dubbed as the Vivo X200T, the handset is a chipset and a battery upgrade version of the Vivo X200, which, despite its successor, the Vivo X300, is still listed on the official website. It seems the Vivo X200T is an attempt from the company to offer flagship-grade specifications with the latest software out of the box at a relatively more affordable price.
The Vivo X200T is priced in India at Rs 59,999 for the base 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage option will retail at Rs 69,999. The handset will be available in two colour variants: Stellar Black and Seaside Lilac. As part of the launch offer, Axis, HDFC, and SBI card users can avail a flat Rs 5,000 discount on the smartphone.
The Vivo X200T specifications include a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and a punch-hole for the selfie camera. This is a standard display with slim bezels, and not the high-tech LTPO one, which is more power-efficient while still offering the impressively high refresh rate. That said, it is not a deal breaker, at least for its price range.

At the heart of the Vivo X200T is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+, an overclocked and further-optimised version of the flagship Dimensity 9400 SoC. While it doesn’t quite match the raw performance of the newer Dimensity 9500 found in the Vivo X300, it remains more than capable of handling anything you throw at it – from demanding games to sustained multitasking. Paired with 12GB of RAM, the chipset should offer ample headroom for smooth multitasking and keeping multiple apps running reliably in the background.
To bind everything together, the Vivo X200T boots Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box. The handset is promised to receive five major OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, putting it behind the recently-launched Motorola Signature, which will offer seven major OS upgrades. Moving on, the Vivo smartphone houses a 6,200mAh battery, which is standard in the price range and bigger than the regular X200. The battery is aided by 90W Flash wired charging and 40W wireless charging.
In optics, the Vivo X200T sports identical Zeiss-backed 50MP triple rear cameras as the X200, but with different primary and telephoto lenses. The handset packs a 50MP Sony LYT702 OIS sensor, 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens, and a 3x 50MP Sony LYT600 telephoto unit. The front camera remains unchanged at 32MP resolution. Its closest rival, Motorola Signature, packs a superior 50MP front-facing camera, whereas the OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini delivers a more promising 200MP main camera. It will be interesting to see how the Vivo X200T’s cameras will fare against these rivals in the real world.
The handset is IP68 and IP69 water and dust-resistance certified and comes with an aluminium alloy frame sandwiched between the glass. Other features include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, dual SIM, 5G compatibility, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth v5.4.
