Vivo X300, X300 Pro to debut in China next month; no X300 Pro mini this time
It’s Android flagship season in China. Starting with the Xiaomi 17 series on September 25th, the Vivo X300 series will soon follow as early as next month. After weeks of teasers, Vivo has finally confirmed that the X300 series will launch in China on October 13th. The lineup includes the Vivo X300 and the Vivo X300 Pro, both powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9500 chipset and running on Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box. Vivo also confirmed that there will be no X300 Pro mini this time, more on this later.
Vivo has revealed key details, including the designs of its upcoming flagship lineup. The Vivo X300 Pro model will feature a larger 6.78-inch flat display with a slim 7.99mm profile and a sturdy metal frame for a sharper edge feel. It will be available in four colours, including Wilderness Brown, Simple White, Free Blue, and Pure Black, with each finished in velvet glass. The standard X300 is slightly more compact with a 6.31-inch screen, measuring 7.95mm in thickness, and will arrive in Lucky Color, Cozy Purple, Free Blue, and Pure Black. This model also carries the same velvet glass finish combined with a metal frame.

With a 6.31-inch screen, the X300 is now Vivo’s compact flagship. The X200 features a 6.67-inch display. Vivo, on Weibo, clarified that the X300 is the spiritual successor of the X200 Pro mini, as it comes with all the ‘Pro’ features.
However, it’s still early to say whether Vivo will launch an X300 FE in India or not. The Vivo X200 FE (review) launched in India as a rebrand of the S30 Pro mini in China. With the X300, Vivo already has a compact flagship offering, but it might still introduce an FE model at a lower price tag.
Vivo’s flagship lineup will also include the X300 Pro Satellite Edition, which is likely to remain exclusive to China. This model will feature a 6,510mAh battery, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, supported by dedicated VS1 and V3+ imaging chips. This makes it one of Vivo’s most powerful smartphones yet, designed for users who demand top-tier performance and imaging capabilities.
On the photography front, Vivo continues its deep collaboration with Zeiss. The X300 will come equipped with a 200MP Zeiss primary camera paired with a 50MP telephoto lens. The Pro variant, meanwhile, steps up with a Sony LYT-828 50MP main sensor alongside an 85mm 200MP Zeiss APO telephoto lens. Both models support the Zeiss 2.35x teleconverter, an accessory designed to enhance zoom photography while maintaining strong stabilisation. Unlike traditional periscope cameras, which can lose stability with external attachments, the teleconverter here works seamlessly and can be used across multiple modes, including portrait, snapshot, and landscape.
The Vivo X300 Pro also boasts a CIPA rating of 5.5, while the standard X300 holds a rating of 4.5, both of which are considered industry-leading. This ensures less motion blur and steadier long-range shots, even when using the teleconverter.
Although the launch is taking place in China first, Vivo’s X-series has a track record of arriving in India shortly after. With its sleek design, the powerful new Dimensity 9500 chipset, and Zeiss-backed cameras, the Vivo X300 series is poised to be a strong challenger in India’s flagship smartphone market, competing with the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO later this year. The Vivo X200 Pro earned a reputation as a camera favourite, and its successor is expected to carry that legacy forward.
For buyers, the key question is timing. If you need a phone right now, rivals like the Galaxy S25 and OPPO Find X8 are proven options, especially in the camera department. But if you can wait for a few more weeks, the X300 series is worth holding out for, especially if Vivo manages to price it competitively in India. The combination of compact design, powerful imaging, and fresh hardware means it could be one of the most well-rounded flagships of the year.
