Vivo may finally bring its top-end Ultra model of its flagship X series to global markets this time, and it could come with a camera setup that no smartphone has had to date. Early leaks indicate that the forthcoming Vivo X300 Ultra will have two 200MP cameras, the first one being a 1/1.12-inch main sensor and the second one being a 1/1.4-inch telephoto sensor with Sony’s latest high-resolution hardware. If true, this would make it the first phone to have dual 200MP sensors, signalling a major leap in how brands approach mobile photography.
Supporting this possibility, a new listing in the GSMA database shows a Vivo device bearing the model number V2562, that is unlike the company’s typical China-only identifiers. This suggests that Vivo could be readying an international variant of the X300 Ultra, thus breaking a long-running pattern of keeping its Ultra models exclusive to the Chinese market.
These updates come at a time when smartphone makers are focusing more on camera hardware to differentiate themselves. Many brands are transitioning towards larger sensors, higher megapixel counts, and even complementary kits, like those offered by OPPO and Vivo themselves, to improve quality. Vivo’s plan to use two 200MP cameras fits this trend, as rivals push zoom and imaging upgrades in their top-end phones.

A leak also points to a 7,000mAh battery, significantly larger than the 6,000mAh unit in the X200 Ultra and the 6,510mAh battery in the Chinese X300 Pro. However, Vivo has shipped lower-capacity batteries in European models before, so we could expect similar adjustments in the international X300 Ultra as well.
Camera hardware remains the USP. In addition to the dual 200MP sensors, the phone is expected to house a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, giving it strong low-light and landscape capabilities. On the performance front, the Ultra is rumoured to be running the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is a departure from the Mediatek Dimensity 9500 powering the X300 and X300 Pro.
A global launch would be a significant strategic step for vivo as it would enable the brand to compete more effectively in the global premium segment, where camera innovation, battery life, and AI-enhanced software have now become differentiators driving purchase decisions. More brands are opting to launch their flagship models outside their domestic markets, and Vivo seems set to follow that route.
For prospective buyers, the X300 Ultra could be a promising option if camera performance, battery endurance, and fast charging are top priorities. The dual 200MP setup is designed for users who shoot frequently and want more detail and flexibility from their telephoto lens. Those who prefer more compact flagships or don’t place as high of an emphasis on photography may still be better off with the standard X300 or another premium competitor.
The Vivo X300 Ultra will likely debut around late Q1 next year, just like the X200 Ultra did. If it features an ambitious camera system along with a larger battery, then this could be Vivo’s most competitive flagship so far, and perhaps the first Ultra model that would see worldwide availability.
