Vivo is all set to expand its premium X-series lineup with the launch of the Vivo X300s in China on March 30th. The smartphone will debut alongside the Vivo X300 Ultra and the Vivo Pad 6 Pro, and the company has already begun teasing key highlights ahead of the official unveiling. While Vivo has confirmed a few specifications, a fresh leak now adds more detail to what could be one of its most feature-packed flagships yet. Successor to last year’s Vivo X200s, the X300s will act as the affordable alternative to the flagship X300 series.
The Vivo X300s is confirmed to pack a massive 7,100mAh battery, which should result in a good two-day usage. Most brands have started pushing battery capacities, so it’s not surprising to see Vivo do the same. The addition of 90W wired fast charging, along with a rumoured 40W wireless charging support, suggests the X300s is getting one of the best battery setups in the segment.
On the front, the device is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch BOE Q10+ display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. This places it in line with other high-end Android flagships that prioritise smooth visuals, especially for gaming and multimedia consumption. It is also expected to feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint 2.0, which is what you usually get on flagships.
In terms of optics, the Vivo X300s appears to double down on camera performance, a key focus area for the brand’s X-series. The handset is expected to sport a triple rear camera setup co-engineered with Zeiss, headlined by a 200MP primary sensor, along with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Vivo has also teased a new colour science system, referred to as “Blueprint Native Color,” which could further enhance image processing and colour accuracy. For selfies and video calls, the phone is said to include a 50MP front-facing camera.
The build quality is also expected to see improvements, with the Vivo X300s tipped to feature a metal frame and carry IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
With its combination of a large battery, high-resolution cameras, and a high-refresh-rate display, the Vivo X300s is shaping up to be a strong sub-flagship. Since it would cost less than the X300 flagship models, the X300s could be a good alternative for those who want a similar experience but don’t want to pay a premium.
More details, including pricing and availability, are expected to be revealed at the launch event next week. The device has already gone up for pre-orders in China. There’s no word on the device launching globally, yet.
