Vivo has brought back its S-series smartphones to India after nearly six years. With the new Vivo S2, the brand is reviving the lineup with a refreshed strategy, bringing a premium design inspired by the Vivo X300 FE to the upper mid-range category while focusing on battery life, curved AMOLED display, and more.

Vivo S2 specifications

The Vivo S2 sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED display (2,800 × 1,260 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. The large AMOLED panel should offer vibrant colours, smooth scrolling, and improved outdoor visibility. For photography, the phone features a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor, while selfies and video calls are handled by a 32MP front-facing camera.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 out of the box, and the handset will get 3 years of OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches. One of the biggest highlights is the 7,050mAh battery, which is among the largest in its class. The battery supports 44W fast charging and should comfortably deliver well over a day of usage for most users.

The Vivo S2 also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, making it more durable than many rivals in the upper mid-range segment.

The Vivo S2 is aimed at users who prioritise battery life, multimedia consumption, and design. The large AMOLED display, 32MP selfie camera, and premium build make it an attractive option for content consumers and social media users, while the 7,050mAh battery should appeal to heavy users who want a reliable battery life.

However, buyers looking for gaming-focused performance or ultra-fast charging may find stronger alternatives in the same segment. Similarly, those who want an ultrawide camera or a more versatile rear camera setup may want to compare other options before making a decision.
