Vivo appears to be preparing a wider international rollout of its Y500 smartphone. The device has now surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG certification database, revealing three separate global variants carrying the model numbers V2627, V2634, and V2635. Interestingly, all three models are listed under the Vivo Y500 branding, despite having different model numbers.
The certification itself does not reveal any hardware specifications beyond Bluetooth connectivity support, but it does indicate that Vivo is actively working on multiple versions of the handset for different markets. At the moment, it remains unclear why Vivo is preparing three separate variants of the Y500. The differences could be related to market-specific features.
The development comes months after Vivo introduced the Y500 in China. While the company has yet to confirm plans for a global launch, certification activity often suggests that an announcement could be approaching. If Vivo follows its usual strategy, the global Y500 models could retain most of the specifications of the Chinese version. In that case, buyers can expect a feature-packed mid-range smartphone with a strong emphasis on battery life.
The Vivo Y500 launched in China with a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, the device is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chipset, which is a capable mid-range chipset. It is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs Android 15 with Vivo’s OriginOS 15 out of the box.
One of the biggest highlights of the Y500 is its massive 8,200mAh battery. Vivo has used semi-solid-state battery technology to achieve the large capacity while maintaining a relatively slim 8.23mm profile. The battery supports 90W fast charging as well as reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to function as a power bank for other devices. Large batteries have become the norm now, with brands offering 7,000mAh as the standard. The Vivo Y500 should easily stand out with its 8,200mAh capacity.
On the camera front, the Y500 features a 50MP primary sensor alongside a 2MP depth sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera. Vivo also includes its Aura Light system to improve portrait photography in low-light conditions. While the camera setup appears standard for the segment, Vivo’s Aura Light system could offer a noticeable boost for portrait enthusiasts, a common feature in Vivo’s mid-range lineup.
The Vivo Y500 could be particularly attractive if battery life is a top priority. The combination of a large AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300 chipset, high-capacity battery, and fast charging could appeal to heavy users, frequent travellers, and mobile gamers looking for highly reliable endurance. However, since we only have the certification details so far, we should wait for confirmation. It’s also not clear if Vivo plans to offer the same specifications as the Chinese variant.
