Xiaomi 17T has received another price hike in India. The smartphone was launched in India earlier this year, in June, at a starting price of Rs 59,999. It is now Rs 10,000 costlier after the latest price hike. The 17T is Xiaomi’s flagship alternative, offering a Leica 5x periscope telephoto camera, a 6,500mAh battery, and the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. Here’s all you need to know about the Xiaomi 17T’s price hike.
Xiaomi 17T is now available at Rs 69,999 for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 16GB + 512GB variant is even more expensive at Rs 74,999. This puts the Xiaomi 17T in a different price bracket, but with all brands hiking prices, the categories are getting auto-adjusted. But it puts the Xiaomi 17T at a disadvantage compared to rivals like the Vivo X200T, priced at Rs 59,999.
| Variant | Old price | New price |
| 12GB + 256GB | Rs 64,999 | Rs 69,999 |
| 16GB + 512GB | Rs 69,999 | Rs 74,999 |
Despite the price hike, Xiaomi 17T still holds its own with hardware to boast about. The smartphone has a slightly compact 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120hz refresh rate in a good-looking design and three appealing colour options (blue, violet, black). It also looks the same as the Xiaomi 17 flagship series.
Cameras are its major selling point, especially the 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom with OIS. This makes the Xiaomi 17T a top choice for long-distance shots and detailed portraits. The phone also comes with a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP front camera —all tuned by Leica.
The smartphone packs a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W HyperCharge fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. The Xiaomi 17T has proven to deliver capable performance and reliable battery life, as noted in our review.
At its new starting price of Rs 69,999, the Xiaomi 17T now sits in a more premium segment. If photography is your priority, especially a telephoto lens, the Xiaomi 17T still makes sense. However, if you want a larger battery or faster performance, there are alternatives like the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15.
