Moto G24 Power Expert Review Summary
Expert Rating:
8.0/10
Verdict
The Moto G24 Power may not be the stand-out option in the segment, but it is a smartphone worth considering if you are looking for clean software, decent performance, and respectable battery life. That said, the lack of 5G capability might not work in its favour.
Pros
- Sturdy design
- Clean software
- Good battery life
Cons
- Cameras could have been better
- Not 5G capable
Design and display
+
The Moto G24 Power flaunts a plastic back instead of the vegan leather as seen on other Motorola smartphones lately, including the Moto G34 priced in India for Rs 10,999. Despite its seemingly ordinary appearance, the handset boasts a clean design with a matte finish, keeping fingerprints and smudges at bay. Additionally, there is no cutout for the camera module; instead, a slight hump around the two individual camera rings seamlessly blends in with the rest of the body. The phone is also protected against minor splashes, thanks to the IP52 rating.

Cameras
+
In terms of optics, the Moto G24 Power features a dual-rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, the handset is equipped with a 16MP snapper in a punch-hole setup. These are good daylight cameras at best. The results look pleasing, with acceptable details and colour accuracy in well-lit areas. While the dynamic range is a bit underwhelming, the primary camera is quick to focus on subjects and process images.

Performance and software
+
The Moto G24 Power is powered by a budget-friendly MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of user-expandable storage. Swift performance is not the smartphone's forte, so you might want to keep it away from graphically demanding games and multitasking. The handset is ideal for basic usage, such as messaging, calling, browsing, and checking social media apps. This is reflected in the phone's benchmark tests as well.

Battery life and charging speeds
+
The differentiating factor of the Moto G24 Power is its 6,000mAh battery, which given its usage should easily last for a day and then some between charges. While it may not reflect on the PC Mark battery test, I was quite pleased with the smartphone's battery backup in the real world. It got me somewhere around 8 hours of screen-on-time with browsing, streaming, and navigation.
