Verdict
The POVA 8 has a bold design, a large battery, and cameras that do well enough for everyday use. It also feels smooth in normal use and has a playful character. But the LCD panel is a miss, storage options are limited, and the pricing feels a bit too ambitious. Taken as a whole, the phone is interesting, but it does not feel fully balanced. It has enough charm, yet not quite enough value to make an easy recommendation.

It handles everyday tasks well enough, but it does not feel especially quick and the lack of a higher storage option or microSD expansion makes it less flexible for long-term use.The phone also warms up under stress, especially during gaming. However, the gaming experience is still decent, and HiOS remains one of the better parts of the package, feeling clean, responsive, and nicely polished in daily use.

In daylight, the main camera does a good job with colour and keeps tones looking fairly natural. The trade-off is detail, which is only average and becomes even more obvious in low light. The selfie camera is also decent, especially outdoors, but it softens images a little too much once the light drops.
