Lenovo Essential B50-70 (59-427748) Laptop (Core i3 4th Gen/4 GB/1 TB/DOS/1 GB)

I was tempted to buy this laptop after looking at its configuration, specially the Screen resolution, which says FULL HD (1920x1080). My main reason behind buying this laptop was its FULL HD resolution...which is very difficult to find at this price. I asked Flipkart n number of times whether this is really FULL HD & they said yes it is. But out of utter dismay, this is just HD 1366X768. Although i'm satisfied with this laptop, but i didn't like the misinformation part about the product.Flipkart should keep a thorough check on smallest details of their products before listing them. This can impact or hurt a customer expectations very deeply when he receives a product different then what he sees online. Overall, a great product PROS 1) Very Slim laptop 2) Elegant black matt finish body 3)Nice anti glare screen 4) Got a free Lenovo Targus laptop bag 5) Very safe & strong packing by Flipkart 6) Nice accutype buttons on keyboard 7) 1 TB Hardisk CONS 1) Speaker sound quality is just mediocre 2) Screen resolution is not FULL HD(1920x1080) as they have wrongly mentioned, it is just HD(1366x768).....But as of today 24.07.14, they have corrected the wrong screen specification to (1366x768) 3) Camera quality is average. 4) Single Mic/Headphone port. Overall a great laptop in totality only if you leave the screen resolution part behind. If you're ok with 1366X768 resolution, then its one of the best laptop at this price. What more you can get under 35 grands. 24.07.2014 UPDATE - Specifications details corrected by Flipkart. :) After conveying Flipkart CS about the Full HD screen specification error issue 2-3 days back, i finally received a call from a girl with a nice voice from Flipkart Customer service today at 14:10 PM. They acknowledge their fault that wrong specs were mentioned by them by mistake. They gave me 2 options. Firstly, they offered me a credit refund of 1500 INR as a token of apology if i keep the laptop & as a second option they offered to pick up the laptop from my place & provide me a full amount refund against it. I'm happy that Flipkart people acted wisely & solved my issue in stipulated time period. That's why i admire Flipkart so much!! :D

I bought this laptop because of the full HD display, awesome battery life and a good configuration that was on offer. However, I am completely disappointed with this purchase: ??? Flipkart said the display is full HD(1920 x 1080), but in fact it is just 1366 x 768. ??? The battery life is no where near the claimed! Flipkart says it's 'upto 6 hours' but it lasts just around 1.5 hours with almost no usage! No application other than the Google Chrome installer was running and it drained all the battery. So far, the battery has been charged and drained multiple times, and never, NEVER did it last for more than 2 hours. That's less than one third of what is stated on the website! ??? Poor build quality: Although the fit and finish seems good on the laptop at a first glance, it isn't. A screw came off today(third day after receiving the laptop!). This just shows the carelessness exhibited while putting together the laptop. ??? Annoying design and placement of touchpad: The way the touchpad is placed is really irritating, especially when typing. While typing, somehow the touchpad senses a touch and changes the position of the cursor. This is highly frustrating when writing long articles. As a matter of fact, this happened thrice while writing the text above. ??? Poor driver support: Even after downloading and installing the required drivers for Windows 7 from Lenovo's website, the OS does not detect the AMD Gfx card. Similarly, the brightness function keys do not change the brightness even after applying the brightness patch from Lenovo's website! So far, this has been the worst purchase I have ever made from flipkart. All my past purchase experiences have been wonderful and in fact, I have persuaded a lot of my friends and relatives to shop through flipkart. However, this purchase experience is changing my opinion. The decision to get this laptop was not just a mistake, but was actually based on misrepesentation of facts on the part of Flipkart on its website. I didn't receive the product I was supposed to receive - neither does this have a good battery backup, nor does it support full HD resolution. Interestingly, now they have corrected the specifications on their website. I have already contacted the Customer Care demanding a refund but no one has contacted me in the promised 24 hours time. It seems that with expansions, Flipkart is now changing its culture also. PS: The touchpad design flaw reached to an irritating six by the time I finished this review. 26/07/2014: As per Customer Care status, Flipkart promises to contact within 24 hours, but it is now 67 hours, Dear Sir ! Has Flipkart totally changed its culture?
