Verdict

The Lenovo ThinkPad E431 (6277-1Q4) may not be stylish on the outside but is quite impressive on the inside. If you can ignore the poor 2GB RAM and absence of any user friendly OS, it can turn out to be a smart deal. It is loaded with two advanced USB ports, fast 8X optical drive and supports high end games at ease. The Intel Core i3 processor makes it business efficient as well.

Display and Design

The Lenovo ThinkPad E431 (6277-1Q4) features a 14-inch HD Widescreen BrightView LED backlit display with a sharp resolution of 1366x768 pixels. Although its completely black outfit looks dull, especially with a grey lid, it doesn't attract scratches and fingerprints easily. It has a thickness of 22.6kg and a weight of 2.3kg enabling you to carry it around easily.

CPU and OS

Under the hood, it carries a 3rd generation Intel Core i3 processor working in combination with a mere 2GB DDR3 RAM which is again expandable via the 2 unused SODIMM memory slots up to 8GB. The AMD Radeon HD 8670M graphics card on the inside makes sure that you don’t face any kind of stuttering while playing high end games and movies. It comes preloaded with 64 bit DOS.
