Laptop battery life has come a long way in a surprisingly short time. There was a phase when expecting a Windows laptop to survive a full workday without hunting for a charger felt almost unrealistic. Fast forward to today, and thanks to smarter, more power-efficient hardware, even thin and lightweight machines can comfortably last through an entire day, and sometimes much more, without sacrificing performance. For years, brands have promised 15–20 hours of usage on paper, and now those claims are finally lining up with what we’re seeing in real-world testing.

A quick look at the list also reveals some clear patterns. ASUS leads the pack, not just by flooding the market with options, but by tailoring those options well to different user needs, whether it’s ultra-portable machines or large-screen productivity laptops. HP also shows a strong presence with efficiency-focused devices that balance performance and battery life, especially for professional users. Brands like Dell, Acer, and Lenovo may have missed the top spots this time, but only by narrow margins, with several of their laptops delivering excellent endurance results. As things stand, these are our current top performers, but this is a living list, and with regular updates ahead, there’s plenty of room for the rankings to change.
Note: This article features the top five laptops that have delivered outstanding battery life in our testing over the last 18 months. It is a living, regularly updated list, and new laptops are added as and when they earn a spot. All the models mentioned here have been personally tested by our team.

How We Test Laptop Battery Life
To keep our results consistent and comparable, we use the PCMark 10 Video Loop battery benchmark, which plays a test video on repeat until the laptop shuts down from a completely drained battery.

Each device is tested using the “Balanced” power mode, with screen brightness fixed at 80%, sleep and battery-saving features turned off, and fan profiles left on “Auto” wherever available. This approach helps us capture endurance figures that are fair, repeatable, and closely aligned with everyday usage.

With the testing groundwork covered, it’s time to dive into the top five longest-lasting laptops from our recent evaluations.
1. ASUS Vivobook S16 S3607QA-SH079WS
The ASUS Vivobook S16 S3607QA clearly stands out in this list as a battery endurance champion, delivering an astonishing 26 hours and 18 minutes on our test, which makes it one of the longest-lasting laptops we’ve tested in recent times. Built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X X1 26 100 processor, this 16-inch OLED laptop is designed for users who prioritise unplugged productivity above everything else, and it absolutely delivers on that front. The large OLED screen makes long working sessions comfortable and immersive, whether it’s spreadsheets, browser-heavy workloads, streaming, or writing.

Everyday performance feels smooth and stable for most cloud-based and productivity tasks, and the lightweight 16-inch form factor adds to its appeal for students, home users, and business professionals who want both screen real estate and all-day mobility. While ARM-specific quirks and the 1200p resolution can be limiting for some, the overall experience is defined by how rarely you ever need to reach for the charger, which is exactly what this laptop sets out to achieve.
Pros:
- Exceptional battery life
- Lightweight 16-inch form factor
- Vibrant OLED display
- Stylish Salvia Green design
Cons:
- ARM architecture quirks
- 1200p resolution isn’t that crisp
2. ASUS Vivobook 14 Flip TP3407SA-QL025WS
The ASUS Vivobook 14 Flip combines the versatility of a convertible laptop with exceptional battery life, managing an impressive 23 hours and 25 minutes in our testing, which is remarkable for a compact 14-inch 2-in-1 device. Its OLED display adds to the viewing experience, whether it’s being used as a traditional laptop or flipped into tablet and tent modes for content consumption. Powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7-256V, it offers responsive everyday performance with a notable boost in graphical capability thanks to the integrated Arc GPU, making it well-suited for light creative tasks alongside routine productivity.

The design is clearly aimed at users who work and relax on the same device, and the long battery life ensures you’re not tied to a power outlet throughout the day. While raw CPU performance isn’t the strongest in its class and the reflective display can be challenging outdoors, the Flip balances flexibility, endurance, and daily usability extremely well.
Pros:
- Fantastic battery life
- Good build with a comfortable keyboard
- Great display with a convertible form factor
- Windows Hello with camera shutter
Cons:
- The raw performance could have been better
- Very reflective display
3. HP EliteBook Ultra G1q
Designed with mobility as its core focus, the HP EliteBook Ultra G1q delivers an excellent 20 hours and 2 minutes of battery life, making it a strong choice for professionals who are constantly on the move. The Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor prioritises power efficiency over brute force, and that design philosophy is reflected clearly in its silent, cool operation and outstanding endurance. For routine office work, emails, document handling, video meetings, and cloud-based workflows, performance feels efficient and dependable.

The premium thin-and-light build, comfortable keyboard, and reliable thermals further enhance its appeal as a business-focused machine built for long workdays away from a desk. However, ARM app compatibility remains a key limitation, and users relying on heavy x86 software or external presentation connectivity may face compromises. Ultimately, this laptop shines brightest when used exactly as intended — as a lightweight, ultra-efficient productivity tool with class-leading battery life.
Pros:
- Class-leading battery life
- Premium thin and light design
- Noise-free operation
- Useful AI integration
- Scope for a better display
- Limited performance
- App compatibility on ARM
- Steep price
4. ASUS Zenbook A14 UX3407
The ASUS Zenbook A14 is built around the idea of extreme portability paired with excellent battery longevity, and it comfortably achieves that with a strong 19 hours and 57 minutes of tested runtime. Despite its ultra-light design, the laptop does not feel fragile, and it manages to strike a rare balance between premium build quality and practical everyday usability. Powered by the Snapdragon X X1 26 100, the performance is well-optimised for daily productivity tasks such as multitasking, browsing, media consumption, and office work, all while maintaining consistent efficiency.

The keyboard and touchpad are among the highlights in this form factor, and frequent travellers will especially appreciate how effortlessly it fits into small bags without sacrificing endurance. While its 60Hz 1200p display may feel dated for the price, and storage options are limited, the Zenbook A14’s defining strength remains its portability-meets-battery-life combination, making it a dependable companion for long days on the road.
Pros:
- Exceptional battery life & portability
- Solid everyday performance
- Durable build quality
- Great keyboard and touchpad
Cons:
- 60Hz 1200p display feels outdated
- Only 512GB of storage is offered
- Not for performance enthusiasts

The ASUS Zenbook S 16 is the most performance-oriented laptop in this list, yet it still manages a highly respectable 16 hours and 27 minutes of battery life — impressive considering its powerful AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a large 3K 120Hz OLED touchscreen. It is clearly targeted at users who want premium build quality, workstation-class everyday performance, and consistent endurance in a single package.

From demanding productivity workloads to creative tasks and even light gaming, the Zenbook S 16 handles it all without feeling constrained, while still offering enough battery backup to comfortably last through long workdays. Although its premium pricing places it firmly in the high-end segment, the overall balance of performance, display quality, and battery efficiency makes it one of the most well-rounded Windows alternatives to a MacBook Pro for power users who also care about unplugged productivity.
Pros:
- Premium build quality
- Impressive battery life
- Great performance
- Gorgeous 3K 120Hz OLED display with touch support
- Quite expensive
