Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK has been built specifically to add a new dimension to e-reading. From the outside, it looks like another Galaxy slate but on the software front, it is bundled with a number of apps and features which make reading comfortable.
Revolutionizing e-reading
Display and Design

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK exhibits a 7-inch LCD capacitive multi-touch display with the usual resolution of 800 x 1,280 pixels leading to a pixel density of 216 ppi which may not be  the richest one but is certainly useful for reading. The screen has been tested to be bright and vivid and provides clear visual experience even from off axis angles.

It has a thickness of 8.9mm and a weight of 276 grams. The rear panel is made of the typical faux leather material found in other tablets of Samsung.

Processor and OS

Doing the duty under the hood is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor in combination with a 1.5GB RAM. The specifications are powerful enough to deal with the basic functions of reading, loading multiple texts and documents and browsing the web comfortably. It runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS, the latest in the market. Thus, you have the freedom to indulge yourself in some apps and games from the Play Store whenever you get tired of reading. This is the factor that separates this hybrid from other e-reading slates till date.

Camera, Storage and Connectivity

In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK is armed with a 3MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front snapper. The storage requirements are carried out by 8GB internal memory which may be a bit skimpy but can be expanded up to 32GB. This slate cum e-reader houses connectivity features like USB port, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Other features

With Barnes and Noble user interface on the top, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK brings the latest deals and recommendations directly on your home screen. You also have a shortcut in the left bottom corner which will take you to the last document you opened. There are widgets dedicated to the Nook shop and library. The ArticleView software built for magazines lets you focus on the text by removing the distractions.
