I bought this laptop recently and I can say is that it is amazing for the price point.nProsn•the turbo boost technology doesn't let it slow down even if your doing processor intensive task like unrar-ing or converting a video file in HD etcn•the 2 GB graphics card runs games on medium settings with ease and some with high settings (Fifa 13) but there are no frame rate stuttersn•installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit architecture and it runs with no lag or hicupsn•played games like Grid 2, Deadpool, Saints Row 3, Max Payne 3 and only Max Payne ran smoothly on med settings rest of them ran on high settings without any hesitationn•the anti glare screen is really good. Personally I use the Galaxy Note 2 and I have seen some good screens and this screen for a laptop is really good in broad daylight. Sometimes more legible than my Note 2 outdoorsn•the dual layer DVD support is a nice bonus and although it does not come with Blu Ray support but dual layer support helps since most games ship with dual layer DVDs to save the quantity of CDs usednnConsn•free DOS so you do have to keep in mind the extra cash you have to spare for buying an OS unless you want to use something free like Ubuntun•the color is dull and could've had more variantsn•the battery back up is extremely poor with just two hours of backup that is ancient for today's standards it just shows what happens when you put gaming specs on a budget laptop. The battery is slaughteredn•the weight. It is a heavy device nothing like today's Lenovo Yoga devices or Mac book airs. You will seriously work out your biceps if you plan on holding and carrying this device with no bagn•the stereo speakers is not up to the mark. But I won't complain too much about that because what you do get for the price is more than enoughnnnOver all:nThe laptop is a steal for the price point. I have used the apple ecosystem before coming to the windows one in terms of laptops so I had to purchase the expensive Mac books still one thing I will say is that this laptop is value for money. You win some with gaming specs that can run any game (not on highest setting but get the job done mind you) and you loose some with the battery taking a hit and the weight is nothing more than a dumbbell at the gym. But its recommend for the users who want high performance with the 64 bit architecture and will play the odd game now and thennnNote:nThis scores a 5.9 in the windows 7 performance index. Which is pretty good for a laptop of this range
I cant tell you how much this laptop has agonised me. I bought this product on NOV 4 2014 and since then I have been running from pillar to posts to fix my laptop. It is an absolutely flawed product. Prior to this I have been a user of HP and Sony Vaio. But never have I suffered so much with any electronic product but this. My tale of agony goes as follows ----------------------- I recieved this product with an already flawed CMOS battery. As a result the clock was not working. Due to which many of my applications were not working. After numerous attempts I got it fixed. As Samsung had a policy of sending support at your doorstep, so I would get the service without taking too much trouble . However, not before calling them several times that they finally sent service. They had to change the whole motherboard. Now after changing the motherboard, which took them about a month or so, the problems even doubled. This time though they fixed the clock but it came with a heavy cost. Now a bundle of stuffs were dysfunctional. These were---- i) LAN port ii)USB slots iii) DVD drives iv)Bluetooth adapter and so on. I dont remember all of them...It seemed this time they used an even more faulty motherboard than the previous one. So I called them the cust care again and reported them about the issue once more. But now they have stopped providing service at door. So I asked them about the location of the service center .They told me the nearest service center is 120 km from my place. So I set out early morning from my place only to find that there was no service center there and it has been relocated from there since last 6 months or so. So I ran from pillar to post to find the address given to me by the security guard of the previous place. After reaching that address there was no service center there either. Now I was forwarded to another address as the service center has been relocated from there as well since last 2 months. Meanwhile I also called the Samsung Customer Care regarding this. The lady on the other side after hearing me told that she would call me back and she never did . Nevertheless somehow I reached the customer care and guess what the diagnosis was--- the motherboard was faulty yet again. So they took my laptop and changed the motherboard yet again and finally I recieved my laptop after repeated hankering after them after more than a month.Due to which I suffered enormously as I am a sales person and I have to report through email everyday. So finally I recieved my laptop on 17th June 2014 i.e yesterday. But the cycle of my misery continued as the clock is not working now. I am almost sure they they would change the motherboard once more. Meanwhile I am running out of my warranty period and if it suffers any more glitches then I am screwed. I have taken my time and effort to narrate the whole incident so no man should suffered the fate as I have.
