Display and Configuration
The Sony BRAVIA KD-55X9300E 55 inch LED 4K TV has a very sharp rich display and features a screen resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9, allowing the user to enjoy full screen picture mode without any black boundaries present on top or bottom. However, one must keep in mind, that if black boundaries occur then it is the (by default resolution) video presented by the channel which cannot be changed. Other display features include 4K HDR Processor X1, X Reality-PRO, HDR (High Dynamic Range), HDR 4K with Dolby Vision, Triluminos display, X-tended Dynamic Range etc.
Format support and Connectivity
The TV can read JPEG image files, MPEG-4 videos and MP3 audio files. There are two speakers (2.0 sound type) with a frequency range of 50 - 60 Hz. There is also an auto volume leveller which helps to avoid volume fluctuation when you change the channels. The television supports USB and MHL which has become very common in all TVs available in this budget.
TV special Features
The television packs in a lot of quality features such as smart TV, WiFi, Miracast/Screen Mirroring Support, inbuilt apps, facebook and social media integration, games, Bravia Sync, MHL, SmartView, WiFi direct, Android, Future Ready etc.
It also features local dimming, thereby, it dims the backlight behind parts of the screen which are displayed black. This leads to make the black pixels appear more deeper and darker only on black parts of the video. For example black portions such as hairs or a dark house in horror movies or any journey night jungle etc. This indeed is a plus point for the people who watch video with darker scenes.
