The Xperia Z2 Tablet is one of the most advanced Android tablets currently available. The steep price tag is worth it, for the performance and features it offers.
Display, design and configuration
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet features a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1,200 x 1,920 pixels translating into a pixel density of 224ppi. It is powered by Sony’s BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, and protected by shatterproof and scratch-resistant glass. The ultra-thin 6.4mm body weighs just 439 grams, and is also waterproof and dustproof.
OS and configuration
The tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, with Sony’s own UI on top. It can be upgraded to Android Marshmallow. Four 3D surround speakers, Clear Audio+ and Digital noise cancellation improve sound output. Performance is handled by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, paired with 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
Camera and storage
An 8.1MP with an Exmor RS image sensor sits at the rear, while a 2.2MP camera is embedded in the front. 32GB of internal storage should take care of all your media needs, but there is a microSD card slot on board for further expansion.
Connectivity and battery
This variant supports LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, DLNA and NFC. A 6,000mAh battery powers the show.
