The Toshiba Tecra Z40-A1401 is standard in looks but very impressive on the inside. It is surprisingly light and has the efficiency to deal with demanding business related applications with ease. It also gets a brilliant webcam but may cause problems with its low hard disk.

The Toshiba Tecra Z40-A1401 sports a 14-inch HD TFT LED backlit display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. The silver coloured outfit looks quite stylish with the horizontal brushed finish and has a thickness of 20.3mm. But what’s surprising is its low weight of 1.4kg considering its standard screen size.

CPU and Platform

For driving its processes, the notebook relies on a fourth generation Intel Core i5 processor galloping at 2.9GHz. Together with an 8GB DDR3 RAM, it offers seamless and powerful performance. The RAM is further expandable up to 16GB through two DIMM ports. Rich videos and games are handled by the preloaded Intel HD 4400 GPU. It sails on 64 bit Windows 7 Professional OS.

Camera, Storage and Multimedia

The Toshiba Tecra Z40-A1401 offers high quality video calling experience with the combination of 2MP webcam and stereo microphone. For storage purposes, it houses a 320GB SATA hard disk running at 7,200rpm which does provide superior response but may turn out to be insufficient after a certain point of time. With the SuperMulti DVD drive, you can easily transfer data via different types of disks. The stereo speakers and DTS Studio Sound technology create rich ambience for entertainment.

Battery and Connectivity

The Toshiba Tecra Z40-A1401 is fuelled by a 4 cell Li-ion battery. Moving to the connectivity and networking section, we have options like Gigabit Ethernet, docking connector, three USB 3.0 ports, WLAN, digital media reader, Bluetooth v4.0 and HDMI out.
