The much awaited OnePlus 15 is finally going official: first in China on October 27th at 7 PM local time (4.30 PM IST), as confirmed by a Weibo post by the company. In addition to the flagship, the company will also launch the performance-oriented OnePlus Ace 6 model. Both phones are already up for pre-reservation at OnePlus’ Chinese official stores, such as Oppo’s e-Shop and JD Mall.
Based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the OnePlus 15 will offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage of up to 1TB. Support for a gaming-oriented Wind Chi Game Kernel 2.0 is also provided to enhance gaming performance.
OnePlus 15 is confirmed to come with a 6.7-inch to 6.78-inch OLED screen that has 1.5K resolution and an ultra-smooth refresh rate of 165Hz, utilising BOE’s third-generation Oriental screen and X3 AMOLED technology. The screen has ultra-slim 1.15mm bezels, HDR mode, Dolby Vision, and Pro XDR support. OnePlus asserts that the screen is 10 percent more power-efficient than the OnePlus 13 and has 30 percent longer battery life. Peak brightness is 1,800 nits.
For cameras, the flagship will have a triple 50MP camera setup that includes a primary Sony LYT-700 sensor with OIS, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN5 telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. AI-driven object eraser and background bokeh are anticipated.
One of the highlight specs is its claimed 7,300mAh battery, with wired 120W and wireless 50W charging, backed by a third-gen glacier battery design that optimises efficiency and durability. Other features include IP68 water and dust resistance, an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader, dual speakers, NFC, an IR blaster, and USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C.
Even though the launch date in India isn’t confirmed, reports indicate it can land in November 2025, a bit ahead of the typical January debut.
OnePlus is launching with a new squircle camera design, after the company ended its five-year partnership with Hasselblad and opted for an in-house imaging system called the DetailMax Engine, fully designed to deliver clarity, dynamic range, and natural detail. The phone is debuting what the company calls a new “Dune aesthetic”, inspired by sand dunes, and will come in new Sand Dune and Original Dune colour options.
