Samsung has quietly expanded its budget lineup in India with not one but three new smartphones: the Galaxy A07 4G, Galaxy F07 4G, and Galaxy M07 4G. While the names differ, all three models are essentially the same device under the hood, with changes only in paint jobs and the sales channels they target. Samsung has also made notable upgrades over last year’s models. Here’s a detailed look at the new Samsung budget phones.

What’s new this year?

The new Samsung budget phones are an update to the Galaxy A06 and its siblings from last year. While the 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate and the familiar 5,000mAh battery carry forward from the A06, there are some meaningful upgrades:

The phones now use the MediaTek Helio G99, which is a big step up from the Helio G85 powering the older models. Expect smoother everyday performance, better multitasking, and more reliable gaming thanks to HyperEngine 2.0 Lite optimisations. Perhaps the biggest highlight is Samsung’s pledge of six Android version upgrades and six years of security updates. That’s unmatched in the budget segment, where most brands barely commit to two years.

Samsung is using a Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer back this time, which is said to be sturdier and more premium compared to the glossy plastic finish of the A06. The phones are also slimmer at 7.6mm and get an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, which the older model lacked. However, it’s still less protective than IP64, which has now become the standard among budget phones.

The camera setup remains basic but practical: a 50MP main sensor with autofocus, backed by a 2MP depth camera, plus an 8MP selfie shooter. This is largely the same as the Galaxy A06, so don’t expect a major leap in image quality. However, Samsung has bundled its Knox Vault security, Auto Blocker, and theft protection features, which add peace of mind for budget-conscious buyers.

On the connectivity front, you get Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on all three phones. Charging is also faster this time with 25W support, compared to 15W on last year’s phones.

Samsung has once again split the same phone across different product lines for different buyers. The Galaxy F07 4G is priced at Rs 7,699, and is available on Flipkart in Green colour. The Galaxy M07 4G is priced lower at Rs 6,999, and can be purchased via Amazon in Black colour. The Galaxy A07 4G is priced at Rs 8,999, and comes in Green, Black, and Light Violet colours. All three phones are also available to purchase from the Samsung India online store.

So which one should you buy? If you’re okay with the limited color choice, the Galaxy M07 4G at Rs 6,999 is clearly the best value, offering identical hardware for less. The Galaxy F07 is also a solid option if you prefer Flipkart. The Galaxy A07 costs a little more for essentially extra colours.

Samsung has kept the core strengths of the A06 series with reliable battery life and a simple design, while improving performance, durability, charging, and long-term software support. For buyers in the sub-Rs 10,000 bracket, these phones are now among the most future-proof options, especially if you care about updates and trust Samsung’s ecosystem.

However, the absence of 5G support could be a dealbreaker for some buyers. Many smartphones in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment now offer 5G, with models like the Lava Bold N1 starting at just Rs 7,499. If future-ready connectivity is a priority for you, it may be worth exploring those alternatives instead.
