Samsung has announced that its nationwide India #WithGalaxy photography challenge for the Galaxy S series has entered the Guinness World Records, marking a milestone for smartphone photography in the country. The campaign, which ran from December 30th, 2025, to January 26th, 2026, invited Indian citizens to capture real-life moments using Galaxy S series smartphones.
According to the company, the initiative set two world records: ‘Largest Smartphone Photography Competition’ and ‘Most Contributions to an online photo sentence (artwork). Samsung said the campaign received 31,331 photo submissions from across India to form one of the “world’s largest collaborative digital artworks celebrating creativity and digital participation across India’s rich cultural tapestry.” These entries were combined into a large digital mosaic representing “India #WithGalaxy,” to reflect the country’s cultural diversity and everyday life. The project was anchored by filmmaker Kabir Khan and supported by more than 30 regional photographers.

Samsung added that the India #WithGalaxy initiative aimed to highlight both the photography capabilities of its flagship smartphones and the role of users in documenting local stories. The campaign focused on four broad themes: ‘Faces of India’, ‘Sights of India’, ‘Spirit of India’, and ‘Colours of India’. These themes explored portraits of people across regions, natural and architectural landscapes, moments reflecting everyday pride and resilience, and the colours of Indian culture seen in clothing, food, and festivals.
Since the photography campaign was for the Galaxy S series, anyone with a phone from this series could take part. Samsung launched the first Galaxy S series phone in 2010, and has since updated the lineup with its best hardware and features. The latest to join the Galaxy S series is the Galaxy S26 lineup, which is expected to debut later this month.
