Zeno has introduced a new device called the Zeno Weaver, an AI-powered voice recorder designed for people who spend a lot of time in meetings and don’t want to keep switching between listening and taking notes. It’s now available on Amazon in India at Rs 11,816.
The idea is simple – you record a conversation, and the device handles the rest. It does tasks like transcribing, organising, and turning it into something usable like meeting notes, summaries, or even a draft document. Zeno says it supports multiple languages and can structure output into formats like minutes of meetings, interview notes, or mind maps. The device is built around ChatGPT 4.0, which is doing the heavy lifting on the summarisation side.
The hardware is slim, roughly the size of a credit card, and the device supports MagSafe, so it can snap onto the back of a phone. There’s multi-mic noise cancellation to keep recordings clear, which is important if you’re relying on transcription. Battery life is up to 40 hours of recording and 40 days on standby, so it’s not something you’d need to charge every day.
There’s also a companion app where everything comes together. You get 300 minutes of transcription for free each month, along with translation and summaries. Beyond that, there’s a paid plan that unlocks unlimited transcription and more advanced features like cloud backup and additional formats.
A lot of what the Weaver does can already be handled by apps like Otter or Notion AI, and even some phones are getting better at recording and transcribing conversations. So the question is whether a dedicated device makes things easier, or just adds another thing to carry. If you’re in frequent meetings, interviews, or lectures, having a separate device that just records everything cleanly and sorts it later could be useful. You don’t have to worry about missing details or splitting your attention. On the other hand, if you only occasionally need transcripts, using an app you already have might be simpler.
At this price, the Zeno Weaver is more for people who deal with a lot of conversations that need to be documented properly and want that process to be a bit more hands-off.
