Display, OS and Processor
The Motorola Moto G has a 4.5-inch display offering HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels). It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Performance is taken care of by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, assisted by 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 graphics.

Storage and Camera
The Moto G offers 8GB of internal storage, but unfortunately there isn't a microSD card to expand memory further. Nevertheless, it offers USB OTG, which allows users to connect a flash drive for external storage.
It sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, and also has a 1.3MP front camera. The cameras offer features like face detection, touch to focus, geo-tagging, HDR and panorama.

Connectivity and Battery
The Moto G's connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB OTG, A-GPS and FM Radio. A non-removable 2070 Li-Ion battery fuels the phone.

Customisable covers
The Moto G supports a wide range of back covers and shells, which come in a variety of shapes and colours. These back panels are manufactured by Motorola itself, although there are a bunch of third-party accessories available as well.

The Moto G is actually a trimmed down version of the Moto X. It is priced affordable without compromising on features. The customizable back covers let users personalize the phone according to their preference. Now, the Motorola has launched its successor, dubbed as New Moto G.

  • Moto G review: won't change your life, could change the game
    Deepak Dhingra
    25 Feb 2014 | 91mobiles

"The Moto G makes for a great value for money option at Rs 15,000, and one that should be at the top of your list" It's the hottest little thing in town. The Moto G has been making waves ever since it hit the online store shelves in the country, but it's not immediately apparent why. The specs aren't mind boggling, it looks meh and it isn't really the cheapest smartphone around. What's the brouhaha all about then? It's all in the mind of the be...

    Pros: Sturdy build; Super-sharp and vibrant 720p screen; Smooth performance; Superb value for money;

    Cons: Non-expandable storage; Average looks;

Verdict: Looked upon in isolation, the Moto G is just another phone. Let’s face it, it’s not going to change the world as you know it. It won’t bring about world peace and it won’t mend your broken heart. Heck, its plain Jane looks mean you won’t ev...

  • Motorola Moto G review: how good can a $179 smartphone be?
    Aaron Souppouris
    02 Dec 2013 | theverge

The Moto X represented a sizable step forward for Motorola. A comfortable, fresh, customizable design married with tasteful and useful software features, it’s the polar opposite of the aggressively styled and skinned Droids Motorola and Verizon have produced. Now, Motorola is back with the Moto G, a budget smartphone that aims to bring the best things about the Moto X to customers that don\'t want or can\'t afford a midrange smartphone. And it...

Pros: Aspirational design Excellent performance Incredible value

Cons: Questionable build quality Poor camera Low storage

  • The best budget handset around
    John McCann
    13 May 2014 | techradar

Motorola`s back, and it`s kicking off its global smartphone revival with the keenly priced Moto G handset. A mid-range handset with a low-end price tag and Android KitKat - okay Moto, I`m listening. First things first then, the Motorola Moto G price. You can pick the handset up in two storage sizes - 8GB and 16GB. The former will set you back just £135/$175, while the larger size is still a very palatable £159/$199. And here`s some mo...

Pros: Great value, Decent screen, Slick interface, Android 4.4,

Cons: Poor camera, No expandable memory, Low internal storage, No NFC or 4G,

Verdict: A stunning phone for very little money - poorer camera aside, it`s the perfect PAYG phone. You won`t get a better budget blower than the Moto G....

    22 Nov 2013 | androidcentral

Outside of Google's Nexus line of products, good, inexpensive Android phones have been hard to come by. Instead, the word "cheap" has frequently gone hand in hand with "nasty" when describing handsets in the £100-150 (or $160-200) price range. That's outright, with no contract signed. But with its new budget phone, the Moto G, Motorola is seeking to change this. In its recent presentation from Brazil, the new, fully Googlified Motorola took aim ...

Pros: Comfortable, ergonomic design with great build quality. Fantastic display. Speedy performance for the price. Superb value for money.

Cons: No LTE. Back covers can mark easily. 8GB of fixed storage leaves little breathing room.

Verdict: You can easily point to a lot of things that aren’t on the Moto G. But even so, it’s the best phone at this price point by far. Go buy one. Hell, buy two....

    20 Dec 2013 | stuff

Every way you turn nowadays, it’s impossible not to bump into a bleeding-edge smartphone. You know the type - packed to the hilt with quad-core processors, GBs of RAM, megapixels and sky-high ppi counts, there’s never been a better time to be a tech-head. Outside the A-list roster of high-end smartphone celebrities such as the iPhone 5s, Galaxy S4, Note 3, LG G2 and HTC One, manufacturers have attempted to roll out cheaper mid-range handsets ...

Pros: Very, very affordable More than fast enough Fairly vanilla Android and Kit Kat's on the way Nicely made and fun colour options

    Cons: Weak camera

Best Features: Screen and low price

    Pros: Display Performance

    Cons: Camera not that good

Overall: I have been using Moto G for 4 months, but after the update I was not able to get the battery backup as before. After following these tips in this link the battery backup increased, which are disabling Google Now, switching off Wi-Fi and location based services.

Best Features: Every Thing, you can not count any particular thing about this phone.

Pros: processor, picture quality, gorilla glass to protect your screen from scratch, water resistant and many more you can just expect from any other phone.

Cons: Only the card slot it should have the card slot for memory card.

Overall: I am using the moto g(16gb) from last three months and within three months i never found any type of problems, its picture quality is awesome, the processor is very fast you can play any game on this phone. You can say that this phone is better than all phone in the mid range.

  • Best Phone @mid Range Price
    25 Mar 2014

Best Features: I have side loaded Google Now Launcher & enjoying voice commands. This was the best feature.

Pros: Amazing display. Android latest OS. Superb performance.

Cons: Camera is the only thing I see disadvantage. Still the photo I take in this phone is same as Samsung Grand which is 8MP. I can say that Motorola has given True value Camera instead of Attracting the Consumers with wrong value Camera.

Overall: I have been purchased the Moto G on flipkart and using it from last 7 days. I can really say that this was the best ever phone @Mid range price. The screen Display I got was Amazing. The phone came with Kitkat 4.4.2 & the smoothness I am experiencing is superb. Also battery life is fantastic. Keeping wifi, mobile data switched on, my phone lasted for 48 hours.

  • Amazing Phone For Awesome Price!
    01 Mar 2014

    Best Features: Kitkat version.

Pros: Qualcomm processor, its always better than the mediatek processors. Google phone, Kitkat version of android. HD display, Corning gorilla glass 3, perfect 4.5 inch as it can used in single hand.

Cons: 5mp camera. Cant record 1080p videos

Overall: Its been a long time since Motorola left India. But they have replied with a bang. They have given an awesome phone for just 12.5k whereas Samsung galaxy grand 2 with almost the same specs cost almost 25k.
