The Acer Aspire E5-571 (NX.ML8SI.010) is capable of executing day to day business tasks smoothly and comes at a decent price. The presence of Intel Core i3 processor at this price is commendable. However, it misses a user friendly OS.

Display and Design

The Acer Aspire E5-571 (NX.ML8SI.010) sports a 15.6-inch TFT LCD display with LED backlit and offers enhanced brightness with the CineCrystal technology. The smooth black colored outfit carries a minimalistic appeal with a thickness of 30.3mm and a weight of 2.5kg. The input functions are executed by a chiclet keyboard and a touchpad supporting multiple gestures like pinch, two finger scroll and swipes across charms. 

CPU and Platform

Doing the duty on the inside is a 1.8GHz Intel Core i3 processor from the 4th generation series and based on HM87 Express chipset. It is mated to a 2GB DDR3 RAM which is okay with respect to the price. You can use the 2 unused DIMM slots for expanding its capacity up to 8GB. The Intel HD 4400 GPU handles the task of managing rich videos and movies. It runs on complicated 64 bit Linux OS.

Camera, Storage and Multimedia

Embedded in the bezel above the display is a Acer Crystal Eye webcam which has the ability shoot 720p videos. The Acer Aspire E5-571 (NX.ML8SI.010) houses a 500GB SATA HDD which offers plenty of space for storing all kinds of files and folders. The M-Disc Ready Drive and SuperMulti DVD Drive with dual layer support has the efficiency to run all kinds of disks smoothly.

Battery and Connectivity

Backed by a 6 cell Li-ion battery, the Acer Aspire E5-571 (NX.ML8SI.010) can run for up to 7 hours on the trot. Coming to the connectivity options, we have Gigabit Ethernet, 2 USB 2.0 slots, WLAN, 1 USB 3.0 port, Bluetooth v4.0, HDMI out, digital media reader and VGA port.
