Excellent product for the INR 42,990 price tag

Edit: Read a review about expired warranty which is false(for me atleast). Incase yours is not covered, then return it asap within 10 days! Also, 1 more tip for battery life: keep win. update off & turn it on only once a week, download it on spot, install & turn it off again(I do this as win. update constantly downloads stuff in background cos of which cpu clocks >2Ghz all the time=low battery life). Also, disable Telemetry & Data Collection(among other useless background services) to optimize more: google about it & refer to askvg articles which helped me.n---nOriginal review:nnFirst of all, just ignore all the negative and half-assed reviews for this laptop(or for any other laptop listed on this site for that matter)-- this laptop hits the sweetspot with the price and insanely good specifications. Besides, I got mine delivered yesterday within a day of placing the order-- so kudos to the seller and Flipkart. :) nThis laptop is great and the original Acer box had a 57k price tag(no kidding) while the flipkart box(and bill) lists 42,990. Amazing, isn't it? nJust think about it, for 42,990, you get the following(or for 32,990 if you're exchanging your old but working laptop):n1) Intel Core i7 - 5th generation - 5500U (2.4Ghz - 3.0 Ghz max) with 4MB Cache (More cache is good and this one is much faster than i3/i5 processors)n2) NVIDIA GeForce 920M with 2 GB dedicated VRAM (NVIDIA is better than AMD anyway due to compatibility with Intel chipset)n3) 8 GB DDR3L-1600MHz RAM in 1 slot out of 2 and is expandable to 16 GB (Flipkart says it's a DDR3 RAM, which is untrue. DDR3L consumes less power, FYI)n4) 1 TB HDD (I'll be getting rid of the CD drive soon and am putting my old 1TB HDD in that space using a candy-- so 2TB for me. Yay!-- google if you don't how to do it)n5) 5 Hrs+ battery (IF the machine is run on Windows 8.1/10 with optimum settings. Ubuntu, in general, always drains the battery much faster due to many reasons, so don't crib about it)n6) 15.6 inch 1920 x 1080P Full HD display (which is super crispy and amazing)n....yada yada. nnNow, here's what I did after getting my hands on this laptop(I advise you doing the same as well)--n1.) Formatted a 8 GB pendrive with FAT32 settings and flashed Windows 8.1 x64 Multiple Edition on it(Google if you don't know how to do it)n2.) Attach pendrive and start laptop for the first time, and then repeatedly press F2 to load the BIOS.n3.) On the BIOS screen, go to the section where the boot-order of various devices is mentioned-- select the USB device option and press F5/F6 to change the order such that it's at the top(meaning forcing the laptop to boot from pendrive rather from HDD). n4.) Install Windows 8.1-- when it asks for license, just insert your old license key from old laptop(My old laptop ran Windows 8.1 Pro which worked great for me, so I put the same key while installing it on my new one. Mind you, don't use the old laptop or let it connect to the internet, otherwise your license will be blocked citing piracy reasons).n5.) Also, since I am from an university which offers all Microsoft products for free, I don't have to pay for Windows 8.1/10/MS Office/etc., which did help. If you're a student at a major institute here, then I suggest you check out Microsoft Dreamspark for eligibility.n6.) Back to the point: in the installation process, I recommend you format and remove all partitions in order to get rid of Ubuntu. Here's how my new partition look: 230GB C:/ primary + 250GB D:/ + rest in another partition-- you can do whatever you want though. n7.) After installation, use an external mouse if touchpad doesn't work due to lack of drivers, then put in the drivers CD that came with the laptop and first install the Atheros Qualcomm driver for WLAN(WiFi) to get internet access immediately. Install the rest of the drivers and then you're set.n8.) To get maximum battery life(5+hrs like me, and as a matter of fact, it's showing 2.54hrs remaining at 43% battery as I write this), I recommend you keep the screen brightness low all the time, mute speaker when not in need, disable Bluetooth/LAN/WiFi adapter when not in use, install ublock origin + ghostery + the great suspender on your main browser to reduce more battery consumption, change Intel HD graphics control panel for optimum settings as per your requirements 'cos it need not be active all the time. nAll in all, this laptop is great, and I recommend it to everyone who has the skills and patience to do the above. Oh and please excuse any typos if there are any. nnTL;DR: 5Hrs+ battery life if run on Windows 8.1/10(Avoid Win 7 and Ubuntu) with opt. settings; Ubuntu sucks and drains battery? Install Windows 8.1/10 yourself and stop cribbing; It's a DDR3L RAM(better than DDR3); Go for the laptop-- best specs(Core i7 upto 3 GHz, Nvidia 920M 2GB dedicated graphics, 8GB DDR3L RAM expandable to 16GB, 1TB HDD, 1920x1080pixel screen is amazing) for this price(42,990, or 32,990 if exchanging old laptop)! nHope this helped!

Looks good only on the paper.

When I first saw this laptop on flipkart I was really impressed by the specs It is offering and so I bought it hoping that It would turn out to be good.nSadly, this laptop did not match my expectations.nYou have to install the operating system.Although laptop says It has linux but it is as useless as an old 1000 rupee note.nSecondly, the battery backup that this laptop offers is very bad.It just gives you about 2.5 hours of battery backup.nWhen It comes to design of this laptop you would probably think you have bought a second hand laptop as it is badly designed .nAcer has used really cheap materials for its design and It is very delicate as well.Bulkiness of this laptop just adds to the discomfort of this laptop.nnMy advice, go for a laptop by HP or DELL as It wont disappoint you as much as this laptop has disappointed me.

There is no warranty on this product.

There is no warranty on this product as this model is quite old and acer no longer provides warranty on this product. They are falsely displaying one year warranty on the site.
