General Review:nThe Flipkart service is awesome (as always) - 5/5 scorenI bought this netbook as soon as it became available here, and I'm just lovin it! Small, light, cute, value for money, does well what it's capable of, and of course, THE best for on-the-run jobs - 5/5nnnSpecs and Features Review:n- Battery backup is exceptionally good. 6-10 hours, as per your actual usage. Time will tell how well that lasts - 5/5nn- Keyboard - One of the best designs I've seen so far. They have managed to pack into it all the important keys and at the right places. However, because of the smaller chiclet key sizes typing takes a little getting used to. For better judgement anyway I would advise you to go to your nearest store and try it out yourself - 4/5nn- Touchpad - supports multi-touch gestures too. Nice!! - 5/5nn- Color, Looks and UI - most eye-catchy that I have found yet. Although, the UI that comes up on screen when using the Fn-keys (in Windows 7 OS) could've been better - 5/5nn- Operating System - You have to install it yourself (and the drivers). So that's a pain. But I assume you are aware of and ready for this one-time labour - 4/5nn- OS performance - Works well with Windows 7 Ultimate. The 2GB RAM overcomes the much-complained drawbacks of its predecesors - 4.5/5nn- Multimedia (audio/video) performance - well yeah you won't get the best of best output. But it's good enough, trust me - 4/5nn- The "Non-Glare Display" screen is actually very helpful (even against sun light) - 5/5nn- Heating Issues - It does get heated a tiny bit (all laptops do), but nothing to worry about particularly. Just make sure there's proper ventilation - 4/5nn- Online Support from Asus is also quite prompt - 4/5nn- Repair/Service Centres - don't know actually. Just check out on Asus' official website if your city has one. (Because as long as the device works fine, it's fine, but if something goes wrong, it will be hell finding and commuting to your service centres.)nnnPersonal choice: nGo for the white one. For a netbook, white really brings out the class AND cuteness in it. Black/Red looks better only on its bigger brothers.nnBe informed:nThis netbook works superbly for internet browsing, word processing, music, entertainment and other such low processing jobs. But if you expect it to do heavy computing (like photoshop, visual studio or gaming), I suggest you reconsider and search for a better config laptop, even if it costs more. nnAlso, (this is something I read in a lot of netbook reviews before that) the drivers come in a CD but netbooks dont have CD-drive, so blah blah... Well, OK, I value personal opinions but let me just tell you that this is no reason to NOT buy this netbook.nnOn the reassuring side, realize that this netbook is coming at a cost of a good-quality, middle-class Android phone, but has the ability to do much much more useful stuffs than to just keep swiping your screen left and right when you have nothing else to do.nnnIn conclusion:nIn our search for a "kaam-chalaau" laptop that lets us achieve our day-to-day life goals, this netbook, along with its surprisingly good features and ergonomics, is certainly among the top choices (maybe the best), and definitely has an edge over its competitor products.
It's the best amongst it's nearest competitors. Here goes the review-nnPros-: nn1. V.V. high battery back up., it has a 6 cell battery. nn+If I surf net (and don't listen audio or watch video), the battery lasts for approx 7 hrs.n+If I work offline (on MS office), I get a battery back up of 8 - 9 hrs.n+I could watch 2 English movies (both of 2 hrs. duration each, without headphones, with low speaker volume) and was still left with +12% of battery backup.nnAs claimed by ASUS regarding the 11 hrs. battery back up, that can be attainted only on standard test conditions. So better go by my practical experience as mentioned above....it still gives a tremendous battery back up as compared with any other mini laptop.nn2. It has a anti glare screen. So I can work in sunlight as well. Zero relection even if it's kept beneath the tube light. nn3. It delivers good wifi signal strength. I keep my router at ground floor and use this laptop at the first floor and still get a signal strength of 4 bars. My other laptop, Lenovo Mini gives me a signal strength of not more than 2 grains if kept at the first floor.nn4. It's of 2 GB RAM, the one being sold on Flipkart. A lot many other sites I observed were selling the older series of 1 GB RAM which of course was Rs. 1,000/- cheaper but I would recommed to go for this one (which is of 2GB RAM) nnnCons-: It doesn't have a light indicator of Caps Lock, though you get a prompt on the screen if it's switched on or off. nnAll in all, it's worth buying. Some users have mentioned in their reviews that at times they have experienced some jerks while watching HD 1080 p movies. I never experiened that...and those who have experienced these, I recommend you to download VLC media player (a freeware) from download.com to enjoy watching movies seamlessly, without any jerks. I have seen 6 HD movies without any jerks ever since I bought this mini laptop.nnIt's the best as compared to it's nearest competitors in the mini segment like that of Acer Aspire one, HP mini and Lenovo Mini series. Price is too a bit low than it's nearest competitior Acer AOD 270.
