if you check Asus India website you wont find K55VD ,you can find the version in Asus international site.Pretty new entrant to India , I guess. Have been using Asus K53SD(same in everyway except K53sd has 1 usb3 slot and blue tooth 3 whereas K55VD has 2 usb 3 slots and bluetooth4 ) for last 7 months ,I could'nt find any glitches since i was advised not to go for ASUS since it is rarely used/seen brand here. Almost most other brand runs of something developed by asus ,either motherboard or graphics card.For the same asus gives you higher config. notebook at cheaper rate.you can also checkout with the local dealers where they might give you little more cheaper rate. go for it ...Asus never lets you down...
This lappy is just the replica or sibling of Asus K53SD series.The only diff b/w both is that this one has got bluetooth v4.0 or superior to latter.So,WTH go for this one because it comes with 2 slots of USB 3.0 which is totally worth it Cons: It comes with dual core i3 Processor btw i3 comes with dual core..
why i prefered asus k55vd.. - Free dos ( SO THAT U CAN SAVE AROUND 2000 , also i need windows ultimate which is best windows os ) - according to my use there is no much difference between i3 and i5 ( i3 supports all games and graphics like i5 ) SO THAT U CAN SAVE AROUND 2500 - 4 gb ram is more than enough to run windows 7 ultimate ( so 8 gb ram is unnecessary ) - i prefer 500gb harddisk space because it is nice to say that ' my laptop has builtin 1tb harddisk ' but practically we wont use more than 500gb :P ( if u arent a movie lover u wont cross 300gb ) - I AM GAMER SO I NEED GRAPHICS CARD MUST ( 1gb graphics is enough but god gifted me 2 gb graphics in the name of ASUS mania :D) - nowadays USB bootable techniques are available so we wont use any dvd drives (blue ray disk reader is unnecessary , SO THAT U CAN SAVE AROUND 3000) - Metallic chic looks great . - user interference and appereance is 1000 times better than Dell.. - what i need is best USB slot ( 3.0usb(2) and one 2.0 usb ) - battery works great.. - touchpad works great it supports multifinger options like in mac .. ( pls use elantech touchpad driver ) CONSTRAINS : - it has only few showroom and service center , but in future it might be higher ... - the sad thing is asus k55vd available only in 15.4 inch u wont find any 14 inch version in asus K series.. - you need download all required drivers from asus site( bcoz this s free dos ) IF U R A EXTREME GAMER PLS BUT LAPTOP MORE THAN 45000 , IF U R SUPPOSED TO BUY A LAPTOP IN D RANGE 30000 - 40000 ASUS K55VD ' THE BEST '
bought mine couple of weeks b4. as said in other reviews its one of the best for its price range with few short comings: 1. touchpad&buttons isnt that good to use. also it has no scroll option in it. 2. keyooard is OK(should not say it as good), i used dell inspiron 1525, its keyboard is better that this one. 3. you have to download all the drivers, if u r installing windows8, because the drivers CD which is shipped with this supports only win7. 4. length of charger cable is shorter. 5. charger plug has only two pins.(none for earth), so if you plug into wall plug-point it may come out/fall down if slightly disturbed.
Asus u hav given best product in 33k...i bought this lapi from local dealer at 32k with accessories... Coming to lapi 1) best confg in Rs32k 2) best for gaming lapi in 35k budget 3)use cooling pad,my lapi never heat up Gaming reveiw 1) COD-MW3 -on high setting 2)BF3- on ultra setting 3)assassins creed3-ultra setting 4)fifa12-13-on high setting and all games runnable even GTA4..no lag at all...go for it sure....
