Overall: bought last week, windows 8 and touch are not essential, also it lags some time. better option was to go for one without os

Verdict
The VivoBook S550CB-CJ123H is a decently priced ultrabook with powerful specification. The Vivobook is very portable at just 2.25 cms of thickness it will slip into your carry case easily. And with its aluminum brushed body it’s quite a looker. The dedicated 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M GPU is a major plus point as it makes for a decent casual gaming laptop too. The only down side is its 4 cell battery which can power this laptop only up to 4 hours which is considerably less for an Ultrabook. But even so if you want mobile features at an affordable price the VivoBook is a good option to go with.

Display and Design

The ASUS VivoBook is an all metal notebook with brushed-hairline aluminum texture which results in high durability and an elegant look. Integrated inside this all metal laptop comes a 15.6 inch touch enabled HD LED screen with 1,366 x 768 resolution. The keyboard is a full sized standard keyboard coupled with a large touchpad that supports multi-finger gestures. The design is very ergonomic which makes the laptop easy to carry around while showcasing premium chic and feel.

Processor and OS

The VivoBook is powered by the 3rd generation i3 processor with a clock speed of 1.8 Ghz making it quite zippy to use and can easily handle multiple tasks with fluidity. The latest Windows 8 along with the touch enabled screen adds to the overall functionality of the laptop, making navigation easy and more intuitive.

Camera, Storage, Multimedia

The VivoBook comes with a 1MP webcam which can be used for taking sharp images and videos, and it also supports video chatting. The storage device on-board is a 500GB hard disk giving the user ample space for storing all of his valuable data and huge files. A dedicated 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M GPU takes care of the multimedia needs being able to render smooth graphics while gaming and supporting HD video playback.

Connectivity and Battery

The VivoBook  comes with loads of connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2xUSB (2.0), 1x USB (3.0), Multi card slot and HDMI port. A 4 cell 65W Li-ion battery keeps this powered on when unplugged.
