Canon Digital IXUS 220 HS Point & Shoot Camera

This camera is an all-purpose P&S, delivering on almost all counts. Its sleek, stylish and has loads of features. The noise is more in dim light( due to higher ISO speeds the camera opts for), but the aperture of 2.8 compensates for that. A very welcome feature is 24 MM wide angle, various image presets and the Digic 4 processor( Canon have introduced Digic 5 with the S100). Some of the cons however, are: 1. Not suitable for fast paced ( action) photography 2. No Shallow DOF ( i know its a DSLR feature, but i expected some DOF witht the f2.8 aperture) 3. Good but not excellent low light performance 4. No manual control ( like aperture priority and shutter speed - again, i know its a basic P&S, but some controls would have been welcome) In one line, for a basic P&S for around 10k INR, one can buy this cam blindfolded.

I simply love this camera. It has really great features and it's value for money. The black color camera has matte finish and others have smooth finish. I preferred black since it is very slim and matte finish offers some grip. The quality of photos shot in the evening are great. I haven't seen any other camera that has this capability. It comes with tons of other features. I initially thought I liked manual controls, but after reviewing this camera, i wanted to have this. It doesn't have manual controls, but allows me to capture all kinds of photos that I like with different features. I liked many features like - color swap - keep one color and rest in B&W - low light snaps - size,I can keep it in my jeans comfortably. - Slow motion movie capture (My friend went mad after seeing my videos in slow motion. Its superb) Cons: You need to be very careful while handling the camera. On the very next day after getting this camera from Flipkart, I was taking snaps and while giving it to my wife, it slipped our hands and landed on the ground. The lens got stuck and I had to run to service center. They couldn't repair it. The replacement of lens cost me 6K. I liked flipkart service. The transaction was very smooth.
