Great Camera by Canon, Great Delivery by Flipkart!

7D is a formidable camera by any standards. Whatever comparisons one may draw to 60D or 600D none of them can match the feel of 7D in your hands. While I had done enough research on the camera, I was pleasantly surprised by the delivery and service of Flipkart. I got my camera a good 5 days before schedule and only a keen camera enthusiast can know how difficult it is to wait for your new gadget! Good work

Best in its class

This camera is fantastic. The 18 MP Dual DIGIC IV sensor means the picture quality is crystal clear. The 19 AF point system is awesome and every shot you take will be in focus. The focusing system is also very fast compared to other bodies. I have taken many photos in low/very low lights. Noise reduction is fantastic in higher ISOs. It produces 8fps in high speed shooting mode. It also has a medium speed shooting mode that produces 3fps. Photo quality is terrific. There are various Picture Styles you can choose to alter the contrast, sharpness, colour tone, and saturation of the photos. At any rate, 99% of the time, colours are natural, exposure is accurate, and dynamic range is great. Overall this is a great body in its range. You just have to remember that 7D uses a cropped sensor (1.6).

Legendary camera, but the 70D may be a better choice as of Oct 2013

Make no mistake, the 7D is a great camera with an excellent blend of features. It was the top crop sensor model in the Canon lineup for the last couple of years. But it is now an ageing legend. Most the features have slowly trickled down to the lower models and make it less unique than it was when originally launched. As of Oct 2013, the newly launched Canon 70D is a better choice for most uses at comparably lesser cost. The only real advantages of the 7D are the superior weather sealing, and slightly better frame rates. On the other hand, the 70D offers a newer 20MP sensor, flip screen with touch and full HD video recording. The 70D is also a semi professional model with a top LCD and a partially weather sealed body too. So in summary, go for this if you know that you need any specific feature of the 7D, else think if the 70D is a better fit for your usage.

Awesome Camera!

For any amateur photographer who has used basic SLRs and is looking for an upgrade, this is the best choice. This is definitely as best as any cropped sensor camera can get. It is built like a tank and is ultra fast (8 frames per second). I have always been a Canon guy and have used canon Rebel XTi and XSi before upgrading to 7d. I have been using 7D for more than a year now and I'm nothing short of pleased. The Auto focus is great and low light capabilities with its wide ISO range is terrific. I use this camera primarily for landscape photography and wildlife photography and know a few friends who use this as their professional wedding camera as well (in India and in US). You can search for my name (Arun Sundar) in Flickr and most of my pictures were taken in 7D which should stand as a decent testimony for this camera. If you are not looking for a full frame sensor and want the best camera the Digital SLR world offers, 7D is the way to go!!
