The Dell Inspiron 15 3542 (3542541TB2BU) laptop is a powerful performer and the graphics visualisation is also superb. If you want to enjoy high end multitasking, then you can increase the RAM. You can also make use of DVD writer in times of need. However, the laptop misses out Windows OS and is a little heavy in weight.

The Dell Inspiron 15 3542 (3542541TB2BU) laptop features a 15.6-inch HD LED backlit display with truelife and has a screen resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. The system is driven by a 1.7GHz Intel core i5-4210U processor seated upon Intel QM87 Express chipset. It is coupled with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 820M graphics engine. For better multitasking, the user can  increase the RAM upto 8GB using two DIMM slots. The device boots on UBUNTU operating system (64-bit) and is available in black coloured body.

Camera and Connectivity

One can make use of a 720p HD webcam for video calling and recording purposes.
In terms of connectivity, the device offers a wide range of options such as Ethernet 10/100 BASE-T, Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, two USB 2.0 slots, one USB 3.0 slot, and HDMI out, a digital media reader, a headphone jack and a microphone jack.

Touchpad with multi-touch gesture support, standard keyboard and tray-load DVD RW drive are the input devices present in this laptop. The device sips its juice from a 4 cell li-ion battery which keeps the show running for long hours. For storing data files, the user can rely on a 1TB SATA HDD with 5,400RPM which performs well.
