I have been using this laptop for almost 6 months now and I feel that it's worth buying.nn1) Battery : On normal brightness levels and simple work like surfing, reading, music etc, the battery will last about 6 hours on continuous usage. You can play games as well which drain your battery very fast due to heavy usage of processor and video card. In that case, you can expect a battery backup of around 1 hour.nn2) Processor : Normally other laptops in this price range use a different version of i7 processor which has a bit more clock speed. The processor used in this laptop, though having a bit less clock speed, has a better performance when it comes to consuming less battery. I believe that Dell used this processor model to give you a longer battery backup, which is a good thing. You won't notice the decrease in clock speed but that 6-hour battery backup! - everybody will notice it.nn3) Screen : With 1080p, screen looks quite good. The touch works great. As smooth as any high-end smartphone's capacitive touch. But the thing is - you won't be using much of it. Even if there were no touch on this laptop, you'd hardly have missed anything. I touch my screen only because it's a touch. I never felt the need to do so. So this might be a case where you are throwing almost 10-15 thousand rupees for almost no good reason. Viewing angle is nice - almost 170 degrees. Normal laptop under 50 thousand with a 720p screen has not even 100 degrees.nn4) Design - It has a premium quality design. Mostly carved out of aluminium, I suppose. The base is plastic. It really looks great. You won't find a lot of blinking LEDs. On the keyboard side, there is only a power button which doesn't glow or blink. This really looks neat and clean. There are two LEDs on front side - One for charging status and other for HDD usage.nn5) Graphics - Most of the games can be played in high detail. Games run smoothly. I played farcry3, farcry3 - blood dragon, borderlands-2, NFS run etc. The details look nice. You can find gaming reviews for this laptop on other sites as well which give a more detailed review in terms of gaming performance.nn6) Keyboard - This is something which has not been able to impress me a lot. Design looks nice but I had better writing experience on my previous laptop - STUDIO 1558. This laptop doesn't even compare. One reason might be the thickness of keyboard panel. In this laptop, keyboard assembly is rather thin - maybe 3 mm or so. There are two levels of lighting but doesn't matter. Another downside is the white light LEDs which have been used in keyboard. Keyboard is whitish-grey and that's why white light coming out of them looks disturbing if there is light in your room. If you turn on keyboard light in day, you can't use your keyboard because you won't be able to read the characters. In complete darkness, it's not an issue. nn7) Speakers - You can't expect much from a laptop speaker. You will ultimately be using your headphones or desk speakers most probably. But still, for a laptop speaker, their performance is quite nice. You can't enjoy quality music or anything on them but yeah when you need to use laptop speakers, they won't disappoint you. They are loud enough and give out a clear sound.nn8) Headphone Jack - There is only one port for earphone + mic. So if you are still using those old model headsets with two separate wires for earpiece and mic, you need to get a new one. I am using BOSE - Sie2i and they work perfectly. You can check the details of the earphone if you wish.nn9) Optical Drive - NOT AVAILABLE. But I have never felt a need for it. You can install operating systems using pen drive and movies can be downloaded via torrents. Even if you had an optical drive, they usually go bad within one or two years whether you use them or not. nn10) HDD - There is no SSD. Just 1 TB normal HDD. There is no slot for SSD as well. In case you want to get SSD, you need to replace your HDD. SSD is very costly. So, better stick to what you get. You won't feel much difference.nn11) Power charge USB - Out of 4 ports, you will find a lightening symbol made on one. This USB port is powered even if your laptop is switched off. A really nice feature to have if you regularly charge your phone using your laptop.nn12) Heating - In normal use, you wont even hear the fan spinning. Aluminium body and efficient processor + cooling system keeps the laptop cool. During gaming, fan gains speed but doesn't roar loudly. It's quite silent. You will feel heat while gaming, just above the keyboard (middle part) but that's okay. I really appreciate the cooling system of this laptop. My previous one was not so efficient or silent.nn13) Robustness - I am a guy doing B.Tech. If it has survived under my supervision, it will withstand yours. My laptop stays ON 24X7. No problems from it.
Guys I am using this laptop for last 3-4months so i think I can write a genuine review. nFirst of all I have buy this from a Dealer for 83k. But you get what you pay for this beast.nI was looking for a laptop that is good looking, slim, stylish & also with high end specs & got my eyes on this one. The looks are just stunning.nPros: n1. In terms of build quality its robust & strong enough for daily use.n2. Specs are all top notch. With 4th gen intel core i7 processor, 8GB ram & 1TB hard disk its runs multitasking smooth as butter.n3. With 2gb Nvidia Geforce 750m graphics card you can play almost all latest games with ultra settings. I have played COD Black ops2. Modern Warfare 3, NFS Rivals, Battlefield 4 & lots of other games in ultra settings & had no issues. For your convenience you can download Nvidia Geforce Experience to auto optimise your games according to your configuration. Though its not a high end graphics card but its a mid range graphics card that can handle this graphics intensive games smoothly.n4. Sound quality is good. Though its not so loud but with Waves Maxxaudio Pro Ver4 it can give you decent amount of sound with less distortion. But if you use any JBL or Sony headphone it will just blast on your head with the depth of sound & bass.n5. Battery life is the main highlight of this laptop. Its just unbelievable. I get almost 7 hours battery backup on regular use by normal use(not gaming). But if you game on battery it will drain out faster but still will give you almost 2hours life which is much better than any other laptop. It use dell intelligent active display & battery ave mode to save battery life. n6. The screen quality is awesome. Its a full hd touch screen with 1920x1080 resolution & wide viewing angle. The touch response is brilliant, similar to any high end smartphone. The backlit keyboard is also useful for using it at dark night.n7. Now here comes the look that is above all these pros. It just looks like a Macbook pro & gives you a premium feel whenever you hold this on your hand. The shine that comes from the cold forged aluminium & beveled edges makes it look much more exclusive. It will surely beat the hell out of any of its competitor in its looks.nnCons. there are very few cons according to me thats not so important i think.n 1. Its a little bit heavier & bulky (approx 2.5kg)n 2. There is no in build dvd writer which is not so important these days. If you want you can buy an external dvd writer. nnOverall its a great laptop with lots of pros. If you are planning to buy a premium good looking laptop that is a gaming beast with high end specs than blindly go for this one. I am sure you will never regret for this. Enjoy your inspiron ultrabook.
