The Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 appears to be a powerful notebook which impresses with its value for money offering. However, it's bit bulky, and suitable only if ultra portability is not on top of your requirements.

Display and Design

 

The Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 flaunts a 15.6-inch HD LED backlit display featuring True Life and a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels. It has been loaded in a 31.3 mm thick silver casing which can handle tough situations but can pose problems in terms of portability. However, the silver color body with a soothing finish and smoothly rounded edges looks quite appealing. It has sufficient cooling vents, a normal touchpad and a spill resistant keyboard.

 

CPU and Platform

 

At the heart of the Dell Inspiron 15R 5537, you can find the 1.7GHz Intel Core i3-4010U processor from the 4th generation which is combined with HM76 Express chipset. To make the processor handle multitasking proficiently, there is a 2GB DDR3 RAM expandable up to 8GB. The graphics bit is handled efficiently by Intel HD 4000 GPU. The notebook’s software platform is dealt by the latest Windows 8 OS.

 

Camera, Storage and Multimedia

 

The Dell notebook houses a 1MP webcam which can capture decent snaps. It has a storage capacity of 500GB via the SATA hard disk. The Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 is good for enjoying high resolution games and videos smoothly and by combining it with Waves MaxxAudio v4 Sound, you can have a great time.

 

Battery and Connectivity

 

The 6 cell Li-ion battery equipped with the laptop stores ample power on single charge to run continuously for a decent amount of time. It is loaded with almost all the required connectivity features which include WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Ethernet 10/100 BASE-T, Bluetooth v4.0, HDMI out, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports and digital media reader.
