I was a bit hesitant about the phone initially since one does not see a lot of Dell phones out in the open these days. However, the main reasons I went in for the Dell Venue were: na) Large screen size (4.1 inches)nb) Good screen resolution (480x800 Pixels)nc) AMOLED screennd) Gorilla glass displayne) 1GHz Processornf) 8 MP cameran For the price I paid for this phone, I think it is an amazing deal since other phones with most similar features cost you a lot more. For example the Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V costs about Rs.17,400 but you get only a 3.7 inch TFT screen and a 5MP camera. The Samsung Galaxy S LCD costing about Rs.18,000 has a 4 inch LCD screen and a 5 MP camrea. Both have the same screen resolution and processor speed as the Venue. nnSome of the drawbacks of the phone are:n1) Battery life is not that great even though it uses a 1400 mAh Li-Ion batteryn2) Capacitive buttons on the bottom of the screen (back, menu and home) are not always backlit when certain applications/games are in use. This is a bit irritating while using the phone in the dark and I had to grope about a couple of times before I hit the right spot/keyn3) No secondary cameran4) Rear textured panel could have done well if the textures were more pronouncedn5) For me as a left hander, the power button is very conveniently placed on the upper right corner. However right handed users could possibly find its location a bit of a problem n6) The data cable which doubles as the charging cord when plugged into the adapter is too short for comfort.
I wonder why Dell came up with such a product at such a price.....its hilarious....do we indians look like fools to you. Flipkart should actually scrap this product out of the list, even they are aware that this product is a failure in the market. I have used a dell smart phone before and their after sales service is below par.
