The release date, September 24, 2026, is exactly 39 years after the original series first premiered.
Debbie Allen, who was a producer and director on the original series, returns in the same roles for the sequel.
The new series will feature the return of original cast members Jasmine Guy, Kadeem Hardison, Cree Summer, and Darryl M. Bell.
