Rotten TomatoesThe movie is a perfect blend of horror and suspense. With the enormous success that the first part of the film managed to gain it was only fair to expect good things from the sequel too and as per the audience's expectations the film was a tremendous success. The audience enjoyed the overall plot of the film with the plot shifting its horizon to a much more gruesome and terrorizing danger. The Abbott family this time was seen venturing off into some into some new dangers with them realizing that the sound creatures are not the only threats. The performances of the actors were praised by the audience, the movie's star cast Emily and Cillian were seen totally engrossed into their characters and left no stones unturned with their mind-blowing acting skills it was like they added life to their characters. The movie is a great film that will leave the fans at the end of their seats.

The youngest of the Abbott family, son Beau is played by young actor Cade Woodward in the first film. In the opening flashback scenes of this second movie, Beau is played by Cade's younger brother Dean Woodward.
The film's budget was three times the size of the first film.
On The Big Picture Podcast, John Krasinski stated that he originally did not want to be involved in this sequel, but the producer convinced him to come over and pitch his ideas to the studio. After three weeks, they asked him to write the story, with the idea that directorial duties would be handed over to other filmmakers. Krasinski finally offered to come back as director, jokingly suggesting that he was "Jedi mind tricked into signing on to the sequel."
When he finally decided on an idea, John Krasinski was able to write his first draft screenplay in just three and a half weeks.
According to John Krasinski, in the opening town scene he passes by "Brody's Pizzeria", a nod to the character Chief Brody from Steven Spielberg's Jaws (1975).
"Evelyn Abbott: RUN!"
"[first lines] Lee Abbott: What happened? Roger: [watching the news] A bomb. I think."
