Stephen Gaghan wrote the part of Katie Burke with Katie Holmes in mind.
The screenplay was suggested by the book "Adam's Fall" by Sean Desmond.
In the scene where Katie Burke (Katie Holmes)is walking through her dormitory hall knocking on doors,she is wearing a red T-shirt,shorts and is in bare feet.She was originally supposed to be wearing a pair of flip-flop sandals but they were too small and the straps were biting into her toes,so she simply went barefoot for the shot.
Writer/director Stephen Gaghan marked his directorial debut with this film.
Mark Feuerstein previously appeared in "Rules of Engagement", another film previously written by Stephen Gaghan.
