AGILAN is a serious movie that doesn't waste any time getting down to business. Surprisingly, the movie follows the plot exactly as written, with no detours. The setup at a seaport gives the movie a very realistic feel. Unfortunately, the surprise is not kept a secret for very long, and once it is, predictability begins to intrude. Once more, the good cause at the end seems too unrealistic to be believed. The storyline is pretty conventional, which is a tremendous letdown given the setting of the film. The narrative is elevated by strong production design.The movie is excellent on a technical level. The cinematography of Vivek Anand is excellent. Sam CS has a solid background. Editing by Ganesh Kumar is adequate. The directing is clean, and the dialogue is good.Jeyam Ravi is as tough as you can see him, and he gives a good performance. Priya Bhavani Shankar doesn't have much to do. Chirag Jani and Harish Uthgaman are lovely people. yes it is a one time watch movie. if i have to rate it i would give 2.5 out of 5.
