The lead actor in the film underwent training to operate a real time functioning assault rifle along with his team of actors and also described the experience to be a physically demanding one. The movie was also shot in live locations, including the places where Major Mukund Varadarajan had stayed in his regiment.
Sai Pallavi's visit to the National War Memorial prior to the film's release turned controversial after a January 2022 interview interview of hers resurfaced online, where she described how the people in Pakistan thought of Indian army as a terrorist group, the same way India saw Pakistan as one. She referenced the violent incidents depicted in The Kashmir Files (2022) and cited an example of a Muslim driver transporting cattle who was allegedly lynched by a mob chanting "Jai Shri Ram." This did not go down well with the internet, with the #BoycottSaiPallavi hashtag trending.
