Jane Stern, whose autobiographical book was the basis for this movie, was born "Jane Grossman" before marrying fellow food writer Michael Stern and changing her last name to "Stern." Robin Thomas, who plays Michael Stern in this movie, was born "Robin Thomas Grossman" before dropping the "Grossman" for professional reasons.
