  • Story:

"Ambulance" is a remake of the Danish movie "Ambulancen" released in 2005. Surely, Michael Bay has added an extra hour to add his touch to the movie. If you don't remember Michael Bay, recall his direction in the movie Transformers. The story of Ambulance revolves around characters Will Sharp, his adoptive brother Danny Sharp and their life-changing event: The Heist.

Ending up in disagreement with their bosses, the two robbers, while getting their way off from the cops, keep an ambulance hostage with an emergency medical technician (EMT), Cam Thompson (Eiza Gonzales), and a wounded police officer in it. In the end, Cam meets Will's wife and realizes that Amy has no criminal tie-ups with her husband and gets assured that she will raise Will's child better and give him a more decent and respectful life.

    Why should you watch Ambulance?
Michael Bay's action thriller turns out to be amusing and entertaining with all its twists and turns in the plot. The drone shots and the cars racing and speed chasing each other with a lot of destruction and blowing vehicles. It is a considerably fast-paced movie and will give you a nail-biting experience in multiple scenes. It has a lot of camera shots from various angles as Michael could never leave his camera still. The “Ambulance” movie is all-in-all a roller coaster ride and will keep you on the edge of your seat during the chase scenes. The movie is a must-watch for Michael Bay and Jake's fans.

Though it was a heist, as in movies, it was done for a good reason — to save someone's life. For his wife's treatment, Will asks Danny for money and eventually assists him in Los Angeles's biggest bank robbery. The characters were not so romantic but had a bit of chase and revenge. The heist becomes the point of twists and turns in the movie as the robbery plan goes wrong. While escaping from the cops, they both had to make difficult choices, and their fleeing journey comes with many flashbacks from their childhood. The chase sequence then goes on to bring a lot of entertainment to the viewers. It offers a rare opportunity to see the best in the characters, their strengths and flaws, and the chance to see them rise to the occasion.

Cam, the EMT, is a law-abiding character and tries to get the robbers into the jail against all odds and dangers. Cam, being reluctant to take money from the robbery, later realizes it can find its use in some good cause. As a fan of this cast, there was no fault in the Ambulance's stars. The ambulance chase by the cops was a turning event and came with a lot of good and bad, selfish and selfless decisions made by characters out of their circumstances.

    Trivia Alert

    • Michael Bay acted as a cop in the background at the beginning and the end.
    • Amber Heard was considered for the role of Cam Thompson.

TRIVIA

Trivia

The helicopter chase sequence in the Los Angeles River was not in the script; Michael Bay came up with the idea over the weekend after two helicopters became available for use. The scene was shot in 2 and a half hours with the help of helicopter pilot Fred North. Instead of hiring stuntmen for the sequence, Jake Gyllenhaal was actually hanging off the side of the ambulance's door and shooting at the helicopters himself while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was driving.Surprised by the sudden and speedy filming of the scene, Abdul-Mateen live-streamed the event to his friend as he was driving and later told Bay it was the "craziest shit I've ever done."

The limited space inside of the ambulance required Jake Gyllenhaal to hold the camera for a couple of takes.

On the first day of filming, while shooting footage of the ambulance driving on a freeway, Michael Bay noticed several patrol officers and three motorcycle cops. He asked them if they wanted to star, to which they agreed, and used the opportunity to sweet-talk the officers into creating a rolling roadblock, allowing them to close the freeway for free instead of having to pay a fee of $350-400,000.

Captain Monroe's dog, Nitro, belongs to Michael Bay in real life.

Removing the bullet at all cost is a Hollywood myth and does not help a gunshot wound injury apart from potentially worsening the bleed if not done in the proper setting.
