"Sadie" is one of Manson's most loyal followers in the show. In real life, Sadie was Susan Atkins' nickname given to her by Manson. She became a born-again Christian in the mid-70's, renounced Manson, and died of a brain tumor while still incarcerated in 2009.
Debra Tate, sister of Sharon Tate, urged a boycott of this show. She said the graphic depictions of the murders were "extremely insensitive," and that movies and television need to change the way they portray real-life murders. She attempted to schedule a meeting with NBC to discuss the matter, but was "completely ignored."
On October 1st NBC announced that Aquarius had been cancelled after 2 seasons.
