This special is the show's first Christmas-themed installment.

Last time Arthur was voiced by Michael Yarmush.

This special is the last installment on the show to be overseen by Micheline Charest and Ronald A. Weinberg, the founders and original owners of CINAR Inc., the original co-production company of the show. In March 2001, Weinberg and Charest were removed from the show, due to the CINAR tax scandal.

This special marks the final appearance of D.W.'s favorite song, "Crazy Bus" by Joe Fallon, the show's original head writer. Because Fallon had left the show in 1998 (after Season 4), the show officially retired the song, ending the running gag that began in Season 2, of Arthur getting annoyed over D.W. constantly playing the song.
